The first ever Exhibition of its kind in Bangladesh received appreciations from the Government, Exhibitors as well as visitors. Below - Bangla Trac Ltd. (Bangla Cat) Power Bangladesh 2009 International Expo was fully supported by the `Power Division – Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources – Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh’, Co-Sponsored by Bangla Trac Limited (Bangla Cat) and Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd as its Insurance Partner. Adviser to Hon’ble Prime Minister – Hon’ble Dr. Tawfiq – e – Elahi Chowdhury, BB was present at the Opening ceremony of the Exhibition and inaugurated the Expo with Hon’ble Brigadier General (Retd) Muhammad Enamul Huq – State Minister – Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources; Mr. Nazim Asadul Haque – Managing Director of Bangla Trac Ltd.; Mr. A. S. A. Muiz – Additional Managing Director of Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd and Ms. Meherun N. Islam – President & Group Managing Director of CEMS_Global (CEMS USA & Asia-Pacific); who were present as Special Guests. This Exhibition brought together all stakeholders in the Power & Energy Industry of Bangladesh under one B2B platform and it became a networking ground between exhibitors of the Exhibition from 17 countries and Bangladeshs’ local entrepreneurs leading to successful partnerships & Joint- Ventures to accomplish the Bangladesh Government’s `Vision 2021’ for a `Digital Bangladesh’.

     Aksa Power Generation Kohler – Navana Interlink Rahimafrooz Energy With display of latest innovations and technology of the world in Power & Energy sector in `Power Bangladesh 2009 International Expo’, the Expo with perfect timing played an important role in familiarizing local entrepreneurs with the newest technology right at the doorsteps, in this highly potential sector of Bangladesh with a huge scope for expansion. The Government also is seeking new technology with emphasis on tapping the alternative energy sources for Power Generation like coal-fired power plants or any other source, which would take a big load off the existing gas reserves. Besides Exhibitors from over 17 countries, there were also visitors who had come to Bangladesh from different parts of the World to visit the `Power Bangladesh 2009 Expo’ to familiarize themselves with the Power & Energy sector of Bangladesh and see the Investment climate where the Government is encouraging Foreign Investments in the Power & Energy sector of

Bangladesh and urging the Business community to go for Joint-Ventures, which would not only further expand Power Generation capacity but also support the Government’s poverty alleviation programme by generating more employment. As per statements of the Government, they will provide necessary cooperation to our Business community who will come forward to set up small and independent power plants as the Government has already adopted a policy on power generation through public-private partnership.

Below Right - Wartsila                                                                                                                       `Power Bangladesh 2009’ also gave special emphasis on PV Power and Renewable Energy, for which a new policy has come in place, for encouraging investment in this sector to generate electricity from renewable sources to meet an ever-growing demand and lessen the dependency on existing resources. A Special `Business Networking Dinner’ was held on 13th November, 2009 which saw attendance from important personalities in the business circles, Industrialists, Exhibitors of Power Bangladesh 2009, Important Stakeholders of the Power & Energy sector of Bangladesh and Government Officials. The Dinner was also attended by Hon’ble State Minister of the Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources Brigadier General (Retd) Muhammad Enamul Huq as well as a Presentation and Speech was given on `Investment in Bangladesh in the Power & Energy Sector’ by Engr. A S M Alamgir Kabir – Chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board, along with important data of the sector of Bangladesh.
