Electronic devices control and power machines in industries throughout the world, from manufacturing and transportation to energy and construction. To maintain and operate machines effectively, technicians
must know how electronics are used in these applications and how to effectively troubleshoot systems. The T7018 Power and Control Electronics Learning System teaches students to
operate, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, circuits, and systems used in these vital machine applications.
The T7018 uses interchangeable application panels with industrial quality components, which students use to set up a wide variety of working real
world machine applications. The T7018’s computer-based fault insertion system enables students to go beyond learning concepts to developing key industry troubleshooting skills. The T7018 can insert 30 different faults to present students with realistic troubleshooting experiences.
The T7018 includes a bench-top workstation with instrumentation console, fault insertion system, panel mounting console, and panel storage area; five application panels; digital multimeter; lead set; fault insertion software; printed student curriculum; and instructor’s guide.
Computer Based Fault InsertionThe T7018 Power and Control Electronics Learning System enables students to learn how to troubleshoot real world elec-tronic circuits and components at a systems level. The T7018 uses Amatrol’s unique Faultpro com-puter-based fault insertion system to insert faults and track student progress automatically from a PC, enabling students to learn trou-bleshooting in a self-paced envi-ronment. It includes 30 unique faults that present students with realistic situations technicians encounter on the job. The auto-matic fault insertion system assures that faults are inserted safely, protecting both students and equipment.
Real World ApplicationsThe T7018 includes application-oriented curriculum that teaches theory and con-cepts as they apply to electronic power and control applications. Students learn faster on the T7018 than with traditional electronics training products because concepts are presented in a just-in-time manner and focused only on industrial electronics systems. Students learn the concepts of solid state electronics as they apply to modern applications such
as switching power supplies, analog and discrete sensing, solid state relays, transistors, PWM amplifiers, and variable speed motor control. Components are arranged on quick-connect application panels for quick setup, but feature plug-in lead jacks to enable students to set up a variety of actual working systems.
Industrial Quality ComponentsThe components used on the T7018 are industrial standard models, so students learn with components they are likely to encounter on the job. Examples include temperature transmitters, electronic proximity sensors, and solid state relays. Components are exposed on the application panels so students can see case markings and learn to identify components by sight.
Safe and Flexible Storage/Mounting The T7018 features interchangeable application panels with pre-mounted components. These panels easily plug into the workstation console for immedi-ate use, including faulting. When students complete their learning, panels are stored on the workstation shadow board for easy inventorying and safe storage. Other features provided to further protect the student and components include current limiting of certain components, system circuit breaker, and regulated power supplies.
