Annual Bull SaleBulls Born & Raised Where Corn Don’t Grow!!
Welcome, What a difference a year can make. Last year we had abundant moisture and plenty of grass and hay. This year we had plenty of fires, very limited grass and virtually no hay. Fortunately, our cattle did well and as we all know in this business, no year is ever the same! Cattle numbers are at an all time low and when it rains in this country again, cattle prices should sky rocket. The drought has impacted a lot of herds and operations in a large swath of the country. It is our belief that with the dry weather and limited grass, efficient cattle are essential. Our program requires the utmost efficiency in our cattle. We have no irrigation, only dry land hay and pasture. We must have cattle that can produce even when it is dry. Our cowherd has proven itself to be efficient and effective producers even in deplorable conditions. We were very pleased with how well the cows bred up in just a 45-day breeding season and the calves weaned off heavy again this year. Many of the same things can be said about the importance of efficiency in relation to feedlot performance. Soaring feed costs and inefficient cattle can break the bank. We are feeding the bulls a growing ration that was set up to produce 3.0 lbs./day gain and the bulls are actually gaining an average of 4.0 lbs./day, getting better performance with lesser amounts of feed. The bulls are being developed at Rule’s Feedlot in Buffalo, Wyoming again this year. Travis Rule and his crew are, as usual, doing a fantastic job growing the bulls out. We invite you to stop by the feedlot at any time to look at the bulls. We have tried to include as much information in the catalog as possible but if you have any questions or there is anything else about the bulls or our program in general you would like to know, please do not hesitate to let us know. We owe a huge part of our success to our family, friends and customers. Without their help and support we would not be able to do what we enjoy, raising kids and cattle. Thanks for all you do!!! Hope to see you sale day!!

Friends and Neighbors, The year 2012 was very challenging for all of us in the cattle industry, due to the wide spread drought across the country. We were blessed with enough rain last spring to give the grass a really good start; unfortunately the rains stopped and made for a long summer. Fortunately, we were very blessed with good cattle prices and some hay left over from previous years. We cull heavily into our bull battery each year. We feel by culling this hard we will offer the very best we can to the commercial cattle producer as well as seed stock producers. These bulls, I feel, are the very best we have raised since we started. They are bred to convert grass and add pounds to a calf crop. Their mothers are expected to winter out on minimal hay and supplement and breed back on time. We have a zero tolerance policy on udder quality and mothering ability. In addition we cull hard on body condition. This year our bulls were developed at Rule Feedlot and they are doing a very good job. A BIG thanks to Travis Rule and all of his crew. As an added attraction, we are offering all of our commercial heifer calves this year. These calves are replacement quality. They are one iron and we are selling every one of them. In September, when we weaned these calves weighed 600 pounds. We started them on ground corn and oats in November. They have been at the Rule Feedlot since mid-December. In addition most of these heifers are sired by Powder River Angus bulls. We have been AI’ing our commercial cows for over 20 years and these heifers are the result of that program. They are fancy and should make some awfully nice cows. We would like to thank Neal and Amanda for giving us the opportunity to sell our bulls with them again. We would also like to thank all of our friends and neighbors for all of their help and support all year long. We hope you are able to select a bull that fits your needs and in your price range. If you have any questions feel free to give us call any time. Thanks for your previous support.
Sincerely,
Kale, Kim and Galen Kretschman307-736-2415 or 307-299-4569
