SUMMARY OF IMPORTANT POINTSSUMMARY OF IMPORTANT POINTSThe theme in this series is still about “Islamic
Da’wah” – where my contention is that it has been neglected.
For the duty of “Da’wah”, have to be fulfilled as our Fardh kifaaya (community obligation) adequately.
Yet, I need to again clarify that this concern is very serious (in my view) and may be critical of our shortcomings in Da’wah, which in no way deny whatever good works already done by any mosque or Islamic organizations.
SUMMARY OF IMPORTANT POINTSSUMMARY OF IMPORTANT POINTSThe most glaring neglect is our loosing focus that al-
Islam’s message is to be shared with all of mankind. I clarified the two technical terms of : DA’WAH – “Efforts of inviting all non-Muslims to this Deen-al-
Islam”; and ISLAH – “Efforts to continue developing the Muslims with the
teachings of this Deen-al-Islam” It is in this way that I contended, we have neglected
This neglect has led certain Muslims (those with influence and ability) to have doubts regarding Islamic “Da’wah” as a Fardh (obligation) to be fulfilled by every Muslims with the means.

This negligence is conveniently covered up when “Islah” (to reconcile and develop Muslims with Islamic teachings) are labeled as “Da’wah”.

Perhaps because we have neglected “Da’wah” (i.e. towards all non-Muslims) that may have led to other confusions and misunderstanding of Al-Islam amongst Muslims - contributing to their ‘inferiority complex’, doubts, uncertainty and even cowardice.

We (Muslims) need to re-orientate ourselves back to the principles, methodology and approach derived from the Prophetic way (Al-Qur’an and As-Sunnah), as well as seek wisdom from the Seerah and Tarikh (history of Islam and its tradition) – and make these as the dominant guiding principles in our education, the basis for our motivation and the raison d'être to our lives as Muslims.

Remember : Islamic teaching and our education as Muslims is organic – not artificial or truncated. From a single Good Word, like a seed it must be nurtured into a single, beautiful tree as in Allah’s parable…
