Nyana Department of Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University Corresponding author: [email protected] Introduction Utilization of the family garden in Denpasar City is currently not widely used to support family food independence. On the other hand, from the service activities that have been carried out by the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, it is known that the interest of housewives to utilize the yard for vegetable cultivation is very high. However, with the existing technology, it is still quite difficult to do by housewives because it is still done semi-conventionally. Therefore, a strategy is needed, namely to change the yard utilization system for conventional vegetable cultivation into a hydroponic cultivation system. The aim of this community service is to optimally utilize the yard for vegetable cultivation using hydroponic technology to achieve household food independence. This community service has the following output targets; facilitating the transfer of technology, the hydroponic system in vegetable cultivation in the yard to housewives in Denpasar City. Research Methods The method of community services are introduction in class and practice in the field to the women farmer group and other community (Figure 1 and 2). The expert of hydroponic Dr. Wijana was invite to be instructor for the community servicer. That activity was conducted on August 5, 2018. Figure 1. Community services methodology. A. Explain by expert person in field Conclusion The conclusion of the community services program is hydroponics as the concept of urban agriculture is very suitable to be applied proven by followed of the KWT Lestari Sanur and KWT Permata Nusa Dua. Bibliography Results and Discussion This community service activity consists of three main activities, namely: (a) Learning of planting media and preparation techniques, (b) nursery and transplanting skills, and (c) vegetable maintaining and harvesting. Participants were coming from Asri Lestari Sanur Women Farmer Group, Sanur Berseri Women Farmer Group, and Permata Nusa Dua Women Farmer Group.
