Thank you to everyone who attended the 9th European Food Sure Summit. The 2019 Summit welcomed over 150 senior quality & safety executives to Amsterdam. We had exceptionally warm, sunny weather, and over 35 speakers delivered inspiring presentations on quality, safety & compliance, food supply chain, manufacturing & operations, technology, and leadership.

Some of our attendee’s favourite presentations included Roy Kirby’s (Mondelez) Where next for Food Safety?, Salvatore Ranchettis’ (Ferrero) Securing Consumer Safety and Brand Reputation in a Global Food Scenario, John Carter’s (Danone) Risk Management, Incident Response, Product Recalls, among others.

Included in this report, you’ll find the presentations approved for release, a snapshot of who attended and how you can get involved in the 2020 Summit in Milan.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2020

Following 10 years of success, the European Food Sure Summit is moving to Milan, Italy. Milan is a city steeped in food history in a country that takes its food very seriously.

Milan is about an hour and 30 minutes away from most European capitals, making it a perfect place for food experts to meet and talk. Northern Italy also happens to be a major food manufacturing hub with many of Italy’s globally famous brands based just a few hours’ drive away.

The region produces 21% of Italy’s entire GDP much of it from food and wine with neighbouring Emilia-Romagna also being a major food manufacturing and producing centre.

For our 10th annual summit we will have a greater focus on manufacturing & operations in addition to our regular food safety & quality discussions. After all, much of manufacturing’s obsession with cost effectiveness, efficiency and incorporating new technologies has a major impact on food safety and quality.
