Fulfill your dream of entering the medical professionOur
VisionWe are devoted to helping you pursue a career in medicine
with our Post Baccalaureate Premedical Program. Successful
applicants to this unique, challenging and highly selective program
become part of a close-knit community of supportive faculty and
students. The small class size enables us to personally advise and
support students as they develop their key professional and
academic strengths. Students who successfully complete the program
requirements matriculate directly to Temple University School of
Medicine (TUSM).
TUSM has a history of excellence and diversity where much is
accomplished in its hospital, classrooms, and teaching and research
facilities, but most of all it is a place where people care about
each other faculty and students alike.
Post Baccalaureate Premedical Program Benefits:
Outstanding Faculty Small Class Size Personalized Advising
Conditional Acceptance to TUSM
The Program The Post Baccalaureate Premedical Program offers two
tracks: Basic Core in Medical Science (BCMS) Advanced Core in
Medical Science (ACMS)
The BCMS Program gives college graduates the opportunity to take
the required science courses for admission to medical school by
enrolling in full-time study in day classes and completing the core
premedical curriculum while preparing for the MCAT2015.
The ACMS Program provides a full-time graduate curriculum for
college graduates. Courses are taught by our medical school
faculty. Students engage in MCAT2015 preparation as part of the
program.
The Result Upon completion of the program, students who achieve
a SGPA of 3.5 and receive a total MCAT score of 30, with no one
subscore less than 8, will matriculate immediately into TUSM,
without a gap year. For MCAT2015 a total score at the 70 percentile
with no individual section less than the 50 percentile is
required.
The Core Curriculum In the BCMS Program, students attend
lectures and labs with full-time undergraduates. Post Baccalaureate
students will be in the same lab and conference sections. In the
ACMS Program, students are enrolled in graduate level courses at
TUSM. Both programs include MCAT2015 Prep, seminars and tutorials
with medical school faculty and students, as well as opportunities
for clinical encounters, clinical research and mentored shadowing
experiences.
