On Friday aſternoon aſter assembly, there will be an informaon session for parents in the Grade Prep/1 classroom with Mrs Sideboom. This short informaon session will outline the expectaons of parents to help support learning in the classroom at home. The Grade 2/3 and 4/5/6 classrooms will send home a short leer with this informaon in- stead. If parents from these classrooms require more informaon, please organise a me to meet with the teacher to get answers to your quesons. Dear School Community,

Firstly, thank you for the many families to sub-scribe to the new smartphone App, Updat-Ed. The response was very good and we hope to be ‘pushing’ you important information and reminders each week. Please make sure you ‘allow notifica-tions’ so that at least a ‘badge’ appears on your App when you receive new information.

On Friday afternoon after assembly, there will be an information session for parents in the Grade Prep/1 classroom with Mrs Sidebottom. This short information session will outline the expectations of parents to help support learning in the classroom at home. The Grade 2/3 and 4/5/6 classrooms will send home a short letter with this information in-stead. If parents from these classrooms require more information, please organise a time to meet with the teacher to get answers to your questions.

Students in all classrooms will be setting learning goals over the coming weeks that will be reflected upon at a Learning Goal Conference later in the Term. This will be an opportunity for all parents to ‘touch base’ again with the classroom teacher to ensure children are settled and achieving the goals they have set out to achieve.

Michelle Trudgen is back (http://www.actcurious.com/). After our successful ‘Lighthouse Evenings’ last year to help set our school values, the school has engaged Michelle again to help us determine what actions reflect be-ing Brave, Kind and Curious. The dates have now been set for two workshops in Term 1 that I have assured Michelle we can get 5o staff and parents attending.

These sessions are ‘adults only’ this year and the school will provide a supervised room with a movie

and some activities in order to help parents attend. Like I have mentioned before, this is not something that happens in many schools but is something I am passionate about.

This is a program being developed specifically for Congupna Primary School and already has many other local schools interested in our approach. Please help make these workshops a success and our school community one that supports student learning at school and at home. Please save the dates for Mon-day 27th February and Monday 6th March from 6-7pm.

Please also see the attached flyer regarding our new Congupna Primary School Chess Club. We are seeking any unused complete sets from home if you have them...
