Positive Coaching Ridgewood High School’s own band director, John Luckenbill, has been awarded the Posive Coaching Alliance’s Double-Goal Coach Award for his work with his students and creang posive and character-building youth sports experiences. He is one of fiſty naonal recipients of the na- onal non-profit organizaon’s award, which is presented to coaches who strive to win while also pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports. Luckenbill has taught at Ridgewood and di- rected the marching band for five years. A graduate of Michigan State University, he is now finishing his Master's in Music Educaon. FAST FACTS... The show is currently running through the weekend and features performances by many talented students. Lan Academic Team The Advanced Lan Academic Team won the Northern Regional champi- onship compeon at Princeton. Peter Psathas won for Lan grammar, syntax and vocabulary James Psathas won for Greco-Roman history Charloe Kahan won for Greco-Roman civilizaon Anthony Tokarz won for Greco-Roman literature Sophie Simpson won for Greco-Roman mythology The New Players perform Brigadoon in the Lile Theater. The story follows two American travelers vising Scotland that stumble upon a myscal and magical village known as Brigadoon. John Luckenbill leads his marching band members during a parade and as a posive coach. Ridgewood’s Lindsey Staneck was honored by being named a 2016 Aide to the Grand Marshal of the Bergen County Saint Patrick's Day.
