Working at an architectural company, I have developed my architecture vision. The Outline phase what I focused on, since my main tasks were to prepare a proposal, make relevant general drawings, 3D visualizations – renders and videos, and work with a specific project until it gets accepted by the client. The video renderings you can see on: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=788026BE664571E4%21125

The constructing architecture education focuses more on the Scheme design and detail design than on the Outline phase. Therefore, the projects I have been working on, have been developed to a detailed phase and analysis about fire, sound, energy, sustainability, etc. have been made. Tasks as planning, costing, building process management have also been performed.

INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGThe idea is to design a factory of 2000 square meters for window and door production together with an administration area.

To do that, we took into consideration the activities which would be included in the production process and divided the space adequately into storage for materials, products, workshop area, etc.

Designing the administration area, we took into account the quality of indoor climate, ergonomic environment and flexible design. All these criteria were the reason to create an internal garden which would function as a recreational space.

The building is built of prefabricated wooden and concrete elements using 24M modules in order to achieve standardization of building components for an optimal building process.

The layout of the proposal was made using inclusive design strategies in order to achieve good social cohesion, and avery important role plays also the flexibility of the design.

The proposal was projected taking into consideration the orientation of the buildings and the sustainability of the materials in order to reduce the environmental impact and lower the operation costs. The criteria of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Designed) were deeply examined during the project.

Solar study: September 21

Documentation and calculations of the project were prepared for a tender competition during my 4th semester of studies.

The project is an apartment building. Its location is on Østergade 120, Horsens.

The idea is to use the plot optimally and design 1200 m² of apartment buildings. These square meters were divided into 3 buildings – each 400m², which allowed is to place them in such a way that each of them will get as much daylight as possible and provide a good indoor climate to its habitats.

The concept of the project is to use prefabricated standardized elements and at the same time not to compromise its creativity. Consequently, the building has three storeys and an additional basement. The ground and the first floor consistof 4 average-sized apartments. The second floor has 3 apartments and the last storey is a common room supplied with a green roof balcony. Each of the storeys has one apartment equipped for people with special needs. All the buildings areequipped with staircases, elevators and parking spaces.

What we saw in the project was a vision of a modern and functional hotel with the taste of its history. One of the most important criteria was to use inclusive design strategies which would open the hotel up for all kinds of people, regardless their budget. Consequently, it led to the idea to give the different floors different functions. The ground floor has hostel typerooms as well as a common kitchen, bathrooms and a conference room. The first floor consists of compact double rooms, a room for people with disabilities and a place for irrigation. The last story has two luxurious penthouses, where one of them is for people with special needs.

The conservation was made within the buildings existing structure with an integrated external glass construction, which would serve as an entrance and a lobby. During the layout of the proposal were used sustainable solutions in order to minimize the environmental impact and achieve energy optimization.

The renovation of Horsens prison is a fifth semesters project.

The concept behind the proposal is to find a balance between history and future, between preservation of the historical values of the place and supplementing it with new, modern features.

The construction of the house is made of sustainable material solutions. The main building material for it is MAGU (Danish name: ISOBYG),which provides endless options for different shapes and turns the project into a zero energy building. MAGU is a building system with an integrated formwork that serves as a mold during construction.

SINGLE FAMILY HOUSE Trykkerivej 20, Arden

The house is one of my first projectsduring my practical placement at Bozel A/S. It is designed to suit an elderly couple, whose children hasalready moved out. With its 210m² it contains a cozy bedroom which has an access to the terrace throughsliding doors and an access to the master bedroom, a living room withan integrated kitchen, a separate office, 2 guest rooms and a garage.

The concept behind the layout of the proposal is to provide the clients with their dream house to an affordable price. Therefore, the clientis not charged money for consultation with architects and for design, he is charged only if there is something additional to the design solution offered by the company. That is the company’s strategy to make the clients happy.

SHOWHOUSE FOR MAGUBAUSYSTEME

My renders of the project were used by the company (MAGU) to make a brochure which can be seen here:

The project is a Show-house for MAGU Bausysteme GmbH – Passivhaus in Germany. My work on the project was to make the last changes and deliver 3D renders and visualizations. The building’s unique shape is an evidence of the multiple options MAGU is providing for different shapes. To the South it is connected to the factory. The project has been accomplished during my practical placement at Bozel A/S.

SINGLE FAMILYHOUSEDrejerskovvej 8, Vordingborg

The roof is a traditional pitched roof with additional skylights which gives the space a high quality indoor climate, a lot of daylight and home coziness.

The house is estimated to be a zero energy house. MAGU wall system is again the main building material.

The house is designed for a family of four during my practical placement. It is planned to be built on top of an existing basement.

The wishes of the family were to have the common and private places separated in the house and they also wanted to have a compact and at the same time exciting design of the house. Therefore, we came up with the idea to define the floors by their function – consequently, the ground floor consists of 3 bedrooms, a pantry, bathrooms and a guest room. The first floor is a common space, the living room and the kitchen are placed here, together with a big terrace where they could enjoy the evening sun. In order to break the routine shape of the building defined by the basement, we decided to place the guest room externally. Thus, it led to the idea of creating the roof terrace.

Every step in the design process of the house was decided and discussed with the clients. A special attention was paid to every detail. The project was finally approved by the clients and is being built at the moment.

This has been one of the most exciting projects which I have had and have been entirely responsible for so far. I have carried out the project from the very beginning until the moment where it has been approved by the clients. Its price is appr. 6 mio DKK.

Our concept was to make the house as wide as possible in order to capture the breath-taking view over the lake. In this way, the main rooms where the family spends most of their time would enjoy a lot of daylight and an astonishing view. Another very special place for the family was the entrance of the house. So, we decided to make it of glass and higher than the rest of the building.

I have worked on the project during my practical placement. Together with the owner of the company where I was hired, I have designed the house, made relevant 3D picture and video renderings and have met and negotiated with the clients. The house is designed for a 4-membered family. Its footprint is around 250 m² and consists of a private department, children’s department, a garage and an open kitchen with a living room.

The client’s wishes were to have something unique, a house that “has a hidden surprise in every corner”. Also, the plot has a very beautiful overview over a lake, so they wanted to have this view as much as possible. Moreover, they wanted to have their bedroom, walk-in and big bathroom completely isolated from the rest of the house.

Ugelbølle Project is a private school for children of preschool and primary school age. The proposal seeks to create the framework for a comprehensive and dynamic construction.

The building is located on the Northwest corner of the site and is surrounded with green area. Its square volume is based on two floors. The ground floor is made of heavy construction such as prefabricated concrete elements, while the first floor represents a light construction.

The project is taken from the Outline phase, it is optimized and has been worked with until Detail Design 2.

During the workshop I have learned what kind of techniques as used during model making. This example has been done by me and two other persons in the course of 4 hours.
