market situation for the 2012 & 2013 Price Books; new parts had to be added and obsolete parts had to be omitted while maintaining an average GP on our core product lines. The 2012 Price Book had to be sent to press and the final product had to be distributed nationally.

Re-Designed the Quote process / document to be more manageable by the CSR team and measurable by management; a Quote Matrix simplified implementation and an SPQ# simplified Quote tracking / Territory Sales Manager performance measurement.

Developed & maintained current marketing programs ensuring all proper invoices were obtained while remaining within budget, updated Monthly Sales reports using Crystal to provide to Customers / Accounting, updated Loyalty Funds & Rebate Status Reports on a Monthly basis and ensured accuracy in all reports.

Through quantitative research I was able to identify a Term that had generated the highest level of demand within the target market. I was then able to revise the document and distribute on a National level using a current distribution list.

Motor - Net Pricing Program: The Motor - Net Pricing Program demonstrates my ability to revise an existing promotion program. It also demonstrates my ability to collaborate with my Director and the internal CSR team.

This also proves my ability collaborate with my Director, the Corporate Media Coordinator and the national sales team.

“Get in the Game” Early Bird Promo: This “Get in the Game” early bird promotion demonstrates my ability to write copy and secure buy-in from branch managers nationally. This also proves my ability to create program excitement that far exceeded the desired results.

“Get in the Game” Calendar: This “Get in the Game” calendar demonstrates my ability to collaborate with an external Creative agency in the design and layout to achieve the best possible results. The “Get in the Game” calendar also demonstrates my ability to examine proofs and coordinate the required translation, production and delivery.

“Get in the Game” Award Certificates: These “Get in the Game” training award certificates prove my ability to design and build certificates in Adobe InSuite; three different certificates were created to diversify the level of achievement. I was able to identify the level of participant achievement through the analysis of data provided from the web site. Upon completion of the “Get in the Game” training I had to print all achieved certificates and coordinate delivery.

WHITE-RODGERS Online CFL Traning Program

Project Charter

1.0 BACKGROUND

White-Rodgers has experienced success with their 2011 training sessions but the program has

been costly. It was determined there would be great benefit to expand the audience for the

program with the goal of increasing distributor knowledge on thermostats, gas products, fans and

motors and IAQ at a lower cost per participant. An online training promotion was created by one

of White-Rodgers DSMs and their Trainer that would be implemented throughout FY12.

1.1 BUSINESS OBJECTIVES

Obtain 375 completed training sessions among targeted distributor counter and sales

staff. Completes to be accomplished by territory:

- 100 Team Gogal - 100 Team Dimock - 175 Team Green

Keep the White-Rodgers training program visible and at a high interest level from

November 2011 to September 2012

Create awareness of the tools that are available on the White-Rodgers website and

encourage distributor sales staff to use them

Reinforce the message that White-Rodgers is a leading brand that offers local support

across Canada Communicate that White-Rodgers is well respected and established brand that is

celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2012

3.0 ELEMENTS

A Canadian football theme was selected as a way to generate interest and excitement through

the duration of the program. The program was created to train counter staff on thermostats, gas

products, motors and IAQ. Participants will access a micro site and use the tools on the White-

Rodgers web site for reference. The program launch will coincide with the Canadian Grey Cup,

November 27, 2011 and will end with the awarding of the grand prize; 8 trips to the 100th

Anniversary Grey Cup in Toronto (November 25, 2012). This training program, called “Get in the

Game” will encourage; a sense of urgency and a call to action

Participants are to complete 12 modules of training to receive an entry to win the Grand Prize.

They will be encouraged to complete them before January 18 when the first of 3 Huddles begins.

A Huddle is a refresher course, timed to align with product seasonality. Participants will receive

another ballet to win at each huddle, plus a chance to win a flat screen TV at the end of each

session.

White-Rodgers Pre Game Warm Up is scheduled to launch with a November 27 kick-off. The

Through primary and secondary research I was able to create accurate schematics for counter sales reps to use as reference.

These counter matts also prove my proficiency in Adobe InSuite and my ability to create material ready to go to press. They demonstrate my ability to identify image quality, resolution and my ability

to adhere to corporate colour regulations.

Over the course of this project I was required to collaborate with My Director, Emerson’s Marketing Director, Technical Engineers and our inhouse Technical Specialist. Completion of this project proves my ability to work in a team environment on an international level.

Z Fold Distributor Brochure: This Z Fold Brochure proves my ability to design and build brochures in Adobe InSuite. It also demonstrates my ability to write copy/technical copy and create

good eye-flow. It show’s my ability to adhere to corporate approved colours, address client concerns identified in meetings and prepare sample brochures/meeting leave behinds as requested. This also demonstrates my ability to Canadianize product images using Photoshop and to create material ready to go to press.

Over the course of this project I was required to collaborate with My Director and the White-Rodgers sales force. I also had to obtain feedback from client meetings and conference calls to ensure the appropriate amount of buy-in would be achieved.

Interactive Marketing Plan: This Interactive Marketing Plan demonstrates my ability to offer consultation based on the clients marketing, advertising and promotion objectives. Through quantitative research I was able to identify a target audience within a specified category using cross-tabulated data. I was then able to provide and execute the interactive marketing strategies required to achieve the clients objectives. Interactive strategy execution maintained a consistent image and promotional message to create brand awareness, generate a need for the brand and increase brand sales.

This plan also demonstrates my ability to accurately identify the Gross cost for a 12 month web site campaign, the Cost per Impression and the Cost per Response using Microsoft Excel.

Client Web site Development: This web site demonstrates my ability to develop a functional web site using Adobe DreamWeaver. It also demonstrates my ability to design a layout that has good eye flow, rich media placement and inbound/outbound links for proper SEO.

This web site also provides a consistent and targeted message using an informative tone and an emotional appeal, which demonstrates my ability to write body copy. All creative including the company logo was developed using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Merged Direct Marketing/Relationship letter: This document demonstrates my understanding of key Microsoft office business

applications; by merging the selected databases with a word document the Direct Mail campaign was ready for print and could be easily modified.

This document also demonstrates my understanding of direct marketing through the key elements that were included in the letter. The letter was targeted, contained a promotional offer, had a call to action and was measurable.

Letter of Reference: This letter of reference from the Vice-President of Signature Printing Inc. demonstrates my personality and work ethic. It also demonstrates my experience developing a marketing strategy, conducting primary/secondary market research and providing client consultation in a B2B environment.

Best Strategy Award: This award demonstrates the success of my corporate strategy, marketing strategy, integrated marketing

plan, annual budget allocation, human resource management, product development and other marketing management skill-sets required to

win the Business Strategy Game. Our company effectively secured market leadership and maintained that position

against all other teams in Sheridan College’s School of Business.

Distinguished Participant Award: This award acknowledges our group’s

participation in the Best Strategy Invitational; an annual event that only select teams from Colleges and Universities across north America are invited to participate in. Competing in this competition was a very sobering experience; I expected to win. The fact is that the level of skilled competition was exceptional. By anticipating our competitive analysis the first place team was able to determine stratagems that counteracted our competitive strategies each year, we came in sixth.

Purina One, Magazine Ad: This Ad demonstrates my ability to identify life events of the target audience by reminding the target about the times they gave their own cat unhealthy

food. The creative was chosen to remind the target just how picky their cat can be. The body copy reinforces the creative by speaking through the voice of the cat; specific benefits are tied back to Purina One while using an emotional appeal. This ad also includes a call to action.

MS, Magazine Ad: This ad demonstrates my ability to design a direct response magazine ad using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. The layout draws the readers eye flow through the elements of the ad. The body copy ties into the creative by speaking through the woman’s voice and demonstrates the USP, includes an offer, has a call-to-action and provides a response device that is unique and measurable. Canon, Newspaper Ad: This Ad demonstrates my ability to accurately convert a specified amount of agate lines and columns into unit measurements

while taking into account publication gutter widths. This ad also demonstrates my ability to identify psychographic characteristics of the target audience through secondary research of qualitative and quantitative data.

Sales Promotion Analysis: This document demonstrates my ability to accurately identify competitive sales promotion tactics, sales

promotion objectives and the intended target of each sales promotion. This document also demonstrates my ability to critique the execution of sales promotions and offer recommendations that will satisfy determined objectives with improved results.

Case Analysis: This document demonstrates my ability to accurately identify the problem a company

needs to resolve. It also demonstrates my ability to prepare a S.W.O.T analysis and analyze the

pros, cons, and profitability of alternative market segments. A

financial analysis was prepared for each market segment which

included annual fixed costs, sale price, variable costs, contribution

margin, a break even analysis and potential profit.

Share of Voice (SOV): This SOV report demonstrates my ability to accurately use A/C Nielsen to determine and analyze the Category’s Total Advertising Spending, Advertising Spend by Media and

Advertising Spend by Brand. Through the accurate analysis of a SOV I’m able to determine the current and previous advertising dollars spent by a brands competition; also, I’m able to gain insight into past and present media strategies used by a brand’s competition.

SOV Charts: These Category Total Advertising Spending, Advertising Spend by Media and Advertising Spend by Brand charts demonstrate my proficiency using Microsoft Excel. They also demonstrate my ability to take raw data from A/C Nielsen and produce data-sets that are relevant to competitive analysis and future brand advertising strategies.

Media Brief for Gillette M3 Power: This media brief demonstrates my ability to determine a target market. Through the analysis of Print Measurement Bureaux (PMB) data, I was able to accurately identify target demographic, psychographic and geographic market segments for Gillette M3 Power. This media brief also demonstrates my ability to identify seasonal priorities. Through primary and secondary research our group was able to

identify the seasonality trends of the product category which determined the planned spend percentage per month. Other abilities demonstrated through this media

brief include the analysis of a SOV and identifying creative requirements. Through the analysis of a SOV I was able to identify the top competitors including advertising budgets

and media allocation. Our group was also able to identify current media used by Gillette M3 Power using the SOV for

creative requirements; secondary research was also used to identify the products positioning strategy, tone and appeal techniques.

Media Pre-Buy PowerPoint: This Media Pre-Buy PowerPoint demonstrates my ability to design and create a branded presentation using the effects, animations and design elements of Microsoft PowerPoint. It also demonstrates my ability to accurately identify the target audience; through an analysis of Print Measurement Bureau (PMB) data I was able to determine consumer demographic,

geographic, psychographic and life events/habits.

This Media Pre-Buy PowerPoint also demonstrates my ability to accurately identify the Gross and Net print budget, publication print criteria, accurately select publications based on the target audiences’ media usage and accurately cost out the media campaign under budget and within specified Net parameters while achieving desired GRPs.
