My design philosophy is to use emotional content in design, to create attachment that prevents a disposable culture, to integrate sculpture and nature into design and to aspire to create designs that will unit people.

Sketch Studies - Learning to draw is learning to see.
I think it is important to study the work of existing designs, and a good way to remember it thoroughly is to study it and draw it.

The Phone Throne. Designed to be a consistent phone stand while modern smartphones are quickly replaced. The Phone Throne is constructed of an unreactive aluminium bronze alloy using an investment casting process to create a single well finished piece of material. The Peacocktail Shaker - Group painting and Inspiration.
The personalities within the room dictate the visuals of the painting as the flavour of the cocktail is influenced by its ingredients. The challenge was to bring conceptual paintings into a viable product that was honest to the work.

The Peacocktail Shaker was designed to remove the barrier between the colourful mixing process and client, offering a clear window into the fusion. For the bar worker, the shaker has a grip that most traditional
stainless steel shakers exclude, as well as using high-quality corrosion resistant titanium to further a premium feel. This is a product about class and theatre sitting beside efficiency and insight.

Heterotopia - Beach Inspiration and Calmness.
A trip to the beach to explore calmness, clarity and Feng Shui for it’s utilisation in the Hypnotherapy Chair.
21
Heterotopia - Colour Inspiration.
22
The layered sketching process for the Heterotopia Hypnotherapist chair began with paint work. The key moodsleveraged ideas of clarity and relaxation that people gain from looking out to sea, with purpose, direction and the desire to be healed. The work centered on the beach after an initial exploration of Feng Shui principles.
23
Heterotopia Lounger Creative Development.
It became clear to me that I wanted to split the ‘consultation’ element of the therapy from the ‘relaxation’ element to optimise the overall experience, as I saw the relaxing mood of the beach to be separate from the demands of the initial consultation between the hypnotherapist and the client. This meant going beyond the brief.

24
The Heterotopia lounger was designed for a client to relax on in a hypnotherapy environment. The driving force of this design wasan exploration of the beach and the clarity the beach brings in the sounds, smells and views of the ocean.
This was combined with a desire for healing and a focus on the treatment.
