Fulfilling the client goals of a relaxing getaway by the sea, I think we have succeeded. Influenced by mid-20th century design we have incorporated elements reminiscent of this time in history, but with a modern day edge that fits with the Starwood design goals. Elements that remind us of the sea like blue sea glass, driftwood and reflective light, have been incorporated when specifying furniture with curves, windows with blue glass, furniture and paneling of wood, all adding to a cozy sophisticated environment for relaxing.

Kid Care Pediatric Clinic
Kid Care professional pediatric practice is focused on children. The fantasy atmosphere will be relaxed and natural, to calm the nerves of anxious patients, an underwater world, an environment of tranquility, soft lighting, and colors that are otherworldly. Elements depicting the bottom of the sea will be used. Children can explore and forget their troubles and concentrate on happier, healthier times.
Asian Kitchen
Aesthetic Considerations:My client Wade likes streamline Asian design. He likes green and other colors from nature. To accomplish this, we’ve chosen materials that represent the East like bamboo floors, and light fixtures which remind us of Asian Kimono forms. Pendants and chandeliers were chosen in an appetizing orange color (also considered lucky and welcoming in Asian cultures) and complimentary neutralized green walls create a rich dynamic look, and 2 pendants on either side of sink and centered over island add visual balance to the room. Wade prefers dark cabinets, and we kept the design of the cabinets simple with a slab front door style and simple nickel hardware. Natural materials were incorporated in the natural stone backsplash and poured concrete countertops. Upholstery fabric to be used on stools and valance is kept simple, but shimmers for more visual interest.
Design Solutions:•Improved work triangle by moving door from kitchen to garage approximately 4 ft. to the South (outside the triangle), allowing the refrigerator to come closer to the sink and range (within 9ft.), and also to alleviate traffic flow within triangle.•Moving the door also addresses the need for more counter space. When the door is shifted it allowed the addition of more counter space to the right of the refrigerator, within the work triangle. •Window enlarged for more light, and centered on the wall to make more aesthetically pleasing visual balance.•Addition of under wall cabinet halogen task lighting under all wall cabinets.•Creating an island accommodates a more desirable eating, working and socializing space. People can sit across from each other, view television from island, and the island placed in the center of the room creates a social hub, and also creates more storage with cabinets used as base for island.
Celebrity Bathroom
For Jennifer Lopez
Aesthetic Considerations:Sparkle, Glamour, Soft whites and silver, feminine, Streamline with a 1970s vibe.Wall treatments: South wall, opposite bay garden window, will be floor to ceiling mirrors, reflecting the bathroom fixtures and the garden view, creating more reflected light and the feeling of being in the garden. East wall will be upholstered in a soft silver vinyl, tufted with chrome buttons. West wall inside shower will be marble and glass white bubble tile. And the rest of the West wall will be painted “oxford white”, as will walls in toilet room, and walls in sink area by door. A large round sheepskin rug will be placed in the center of the room to soften the space. Lighting: Intimate and soft incandescent lighting, chandelier above tub as focal point, tubular lighting on either side of mirror at sink near entrance to the bathroom, and pendants at 3-way vanity mirror. Downlights in ceiling and waterproof downlight in the shower.Floors: white and grey rectilinear marble mosaic. Cabinets lacquered white, sleek and modern, shiny chrome hardware.
Design Solutions:•Add lots of sparkle and glamour to the bathroom, using rich materials such as marble, and adding sparkle with clear Lucite, chandelier and pendants, and mirrors.•Adding large whirlpool with surround of marble and glass bubble tile.•Adding Lucite bubble chair designed in 1968 suspended from the ceiling in garden bay window area next to whirlpool.•Adding enlarged grooming center to include: large 3 way streamline venetian style mirrors, Sink, Drawers, Pendant lighting, make-up mirror, Comfortable Lucite chair on wheels for putting on make-up and hair styling.•In floor heating will be added to the entire space to warm the marble tile.•Expand size of the bathroom into garden area, creating large, circular, floor to ceiling bay window/wall with garden view.
