Architecture in Scandinavia Summer Studio 2010

This studio involved two months in Scandinavia.

PRODUCTS:~Analysis of designated locations and presentation of findings to the group. ~Three projects including two team collaborations and a solo project regarding reading the urban matrix. ~Sketchbook entries and measured detail drawings required at the end of the studio.~Ceremony presentation of post-studio, documental, published book including projects, sketches and analysis studies by all students. RETAINMAGNUSON PARK, SEATTLE

UW STUDIO CLASSMulti-stage creation of a natural area wetland. The second stage of the project involved the design of a visitor center and a storm water filtration system for the parking lot.

GOAL: Provide access to the site while maintaining buffers for sensi-tive habitat zones. PROGRAM: ~Provide shelters, viewing platforms and ADA accessibility. ~Enhance ecological literacy op-portunities through art and activities.~Design a Visitor Center with in-door and outdoor group gathering space.~ Parking lot needs include pick-up and drop-off location.
