The premise of this project is to

create a modern boutique hotel

that responds to the historic and

cosmopolitan context of Milan, Italy.

Situated in Milan’s Financial District

on the Piazza Cordona, between

Piazza Duomo and Sforza Castle,

the building creates a grand sunken

public theatre while maintaining a

private interior through a system

of layered screens and shutters.
