NEW BUILDING OF ARCHITECTURE FACULTY IN WARTA CAMPUS(2011) TU Poznan, Master studies project, prof.dr hab. inż.arch. W. Bonenberg

Th e main idea despite the design of the building was the revitalization of existing green areas and land belonging to Malta with remote grounds of the old bed of Warta river. Th e concept of urban planning is the answer to the problem of the place, integrate and implement lost greenery into the existing fabric of downtown. Th e concept of “building - park” aims to unite the function of the building together with belonging green areas. Green in this case, exists as part of enriching the education campus and the proposed building. Th e concept shows diagrams illustrating the main idea of the park, where various avenues will serve as benches for students and users of the park. In addition, wider avenues will be used as a temporary studio space for students during the drawing workshop. Th ese spaces can also result in the external installation of student, as a creation of the free public space. Designed diversifi cation of land planning concepts in the park makes the area becomes more interesting and aesthetically richer. Th e landscape itself creates a diverse urban details (benches, not a temporary studio constituting an independent, separate small architecture, but which are integrated with the landscape) and small interstitial public spaces used by both university students and the wider circle of users. Th is encourages users of the park to use the new revitalized public space. Space of the park and the building creates a coherent form in the urban tissue. Compositional strategies and organisational concepts also allow for the creation of “private” space for student to work independently and refer to the Programmatic Indeterminacy of the building. Each of the lecture rooms is characterised by “a curved lens”, which is a continuation of the dynamic form roof, which emerges with free line from the landscape. Th is used aspect is a contrast to the typical lecture hall, which is characterised by an overwhelming space, too small volume, poor air circulation, lack of natural light, lenses gives a new dimension of educational space, mainly through the diversifi cation eff ects of the sun’s rays. Th e inner part of lens can be used for projection media. In addition, the concept included the idea of sustainable development: a gray water system, cogenerational installation, which provides additional power to the building from recovering heat from waste and eff ectively reduces energy costs. High fl oors allow users to move freely around the building, improve air circulation and provide a greater amount of natural light, interior lights, 80 percent of natural daylight. Flexible laboratories, labs and classrooms are designed specifi cally for teaching purposes, as well as current and future work research. Dynamic form of the building, “torn” and intentionally chaotic facade metaphorically refer to the indeterminacy actually developing cities and changes in education, particularly architecture education, which nature stems and borrows from all fi elds of science and experience of reality, incomprehensible, chaotic and random.

Th e building has also incorporated a lots of inteligent space. Rooms such as the model workshop, drawing room or ceramics workshop have been placed below ground level so that people walking in the park can enjoy and watch unusual work of students and staff . Moreover from inside student can also admire the work of students in the model workshop located about 2 m from the initial height of the ground fl oor separated with glass panels.Th is treatment helped illuminate the room with natural light by integrating them with the landscape of the park. Double skin glass and outer surface of a building “skin” made of perforated stainless steel allows for reductions in impact radiant heat in summer and insulates the interior in winter. All educational spaces and administrative building were designed with the diversity of fl oor levels, allowing students for visual contact at diff erent levels and in diff erent locations in the building and this aspect helps to exchange an ideas between students helping with creative process of education. In the existing architecture building it is not possible due to the “isolation” rooms lecture and other teaching facilities. Most of the rooms of classes, design studios, seminar rooms was designed mostly with the transparent material thereby promoting “openness” of education.

Stairs located in the junction area of the building create an integrative structure of the academic community. Steps structures are broad so as to enable them sit without stopping the movement. Elements of the stairs as additional benches, student lockers, computers, cafe aff ect the pulse of the academic life. Integration structure- staircase is also a place to host open lectures. Stairs also metaphorically refer to the integration architecture and landscape and, like the park, encourage users to try physical activity, this treatment was obtained aft er multilevel horizontal integrations major transportation hubs, freeing up the stairs of a typical frame-divisions and completely lighten structure in an open space with natural light.

WATER SPORT KINDERGARDEN(2010) TU Vienna, prof. William Alsop.

Th e project take place in a small town in North France- Le Touquet. Th e localisation makes the city very important due to the fact that it is located near Brussels, Paris and London. Nowadays same as earlier the city was consider as a weekend and holiday town for metropolises situated nearby. City is very well know for a water sport such as kitesurfi ng and windsurfi ng. According to perfect wind condition the idea of my project was to design a school and nursery were kids could from the very beginning learn how to windsurf and kitesurf. Th e idea to provide a care to a kids of water freak parents to let them spend a time on water while kids will be under care. Another part of idea was to make a branding of the school, provide a specially designed boards and logo conjucted with the school. Th is logo is also part of building design such as facade. Th e shape of the building was inspired by a seagull, which is one of the part of Baltic seaside landscape. Th e building is divided into 3 parts one of it is a school were we have education part, school administration, school support. Second part is conjucted with water consisted of bay watch, swimming pool, water slides and equipment storage. Th ird part is chill zone with restaurant, nursery, sport shop.

INDUSTRIAL SITE STIMULATION(2010) TU Poznan, dr inż. arch. S. Sipiński

Th e location of the project is situated at the crossroads of Gdanska and Baltycka street in Poznan. Th is place is situated in the industrial part of the town on the ring road in direction on Gniezno and Wagrowiec. Th ere prevails a little low-grade buildings with distinctive and aesthetic architecture. Th e intention of the design was to create a hotel complex with a shopping centre. Th is area does not encourage tourists to stay in, therefore idea was to create such infrastructure in order to interests and encouraged people to stay in this space. Th e design idea was to create a store of the company offi ce which has familiar logo for everyone and in function of well know company the area will be more attractive. Th erefore, aft er analysing there was proposed a sport complex of brand such as Wilson. Th e building of Wilson company housed sport facilities such as squash courts and a sauna, additionally in the same building is located headquarters inaccessible to customers.

RADO SHOWROOM(2009) TU Poznan, dr inż.arch. Regimowicz

Th e topic of the project was to design showroom specially for world know brands. My choose of the brand was Rado, the company specialised in watches design. Th e idea was to create a unique interior which would be in contact with atypical design of Rado watches. Th ere was proposed lighted capsules made of glass which is mounted on a silver chain. In addition the materials used in interior were designed in contrast to luxury materials of watches, proposed materials are simple and raw like a concrete wall. Th is kind of discord was to give the place more informal and useful expression.

INFRASTRUCTURE OF GARBAGE.(2009) TU Vienna, prof. Colin Fournier

Th e topic of the project was to re- use trashes for design process. Project preceded by a research of the quantity of waste produced on the site, and the amount of energy produced from the recycled and collected material. Th e idea of my project was to use the garbage from the city Puszczykowo near Poznan. Th e master plan was to use hospital waste and provide a road system where the sorted materials are fed to the garbage incinerator or biogas plants. In addition, we wanted to create an industry zone, which will be friendly to people, where they can come closer to the process and learn how it works. Our aims was to create paths that lead patients or people in the river areas thought industry part and on the way they will be able to use the services such as book store, kiosk etc. Energy used during the combustion process will be used for public transport in the form of fuel produced by the biogas and exactly we designed water tram that will lead people to Poznan or nearby towns located along the bed of the river Warta. Th e form of industry structure was inspired by a tetris game all the industry facilities and services form are such blocks located in three dimensional space which in this case is steel framework. To give an object industrial character and also modular form we come up with an idea to adapt containers in the plant.

SMART HOTEL IN VIENNA(2010) TU Vienna, univ. ass. dipl. arch. Nizic

Th e issue of the project was to come up with idea of smart, conference and business hotel located in Vienna. My idea for an intelligent system in the hotel was to use EFTE material fi lled with nitrogen which is able to convert carbon dioxide into energy. Moreover, to produce a lots of energy the hotel need to have as much as possible surfaces. Th erefore we come up with idea to create rooms in the form of a dodecahedron. Th erefore one room was half of such a fi gure. Th e hotel arose from random combination of multi- fi gures of dodecahedron located in cube.
