I started my career working for a design agency in Windsor as a Paste Up Artist.
In 1994 I completed a four year apprenticeship at BPCC Taylowe, BPC Digital Arts and Polestar the Largest independent printing company in Europe producing origination for major blue chip companies such as Mars, Smithkline Beecham, Marks and Spencer’s, & Thornton’s. During this time I also attended the London College of Printing where I achieved a City and Guild’s in Printing and Origination.
In 1994 I re-trained on the Barco system In 1996 I became a Barco Manager in
Watford and again re-trained on the Applemac systems using standard applications such as Quark, Freehand and Photoshop where I continued producing artwork for blue chip companies such as BT and Tamron.
In 2004 my family commitments led me to go freelance where I have been successfully working with local companies producing artwork and websites for small to medium businesses in the Berkshire area.

What happens during the first assessment?I will take details of your horses’ full medical history. A gait assessment will then be carried out when you will be asked walk, trot up, perform tight circles on both reins and back up your horse and possibly lunge or ride depending on the issue. I may examine your tack if it is suspected it may be part of the problem After observing your horse in motion I shall carry out a whole body assessment (poll to pelvis) and any necessary adjustments will be implemented and explained to you during the treatment.
What Happens After TreatmentAftercare is as important as the treatment itself. Although it can be difficult to make sure that you keep your horse quiet after treatment, they will reap the
rewards in the long term, this can help to limit the total number of treatments they
may need. Aftercare advice would need to be assessed
on each individual case and will be discussed
with you.
Other AnimalsIn addition to horses I also treat dogs and cats (and people!) Please call if you require further information or visit:
www.rachael-wall.co.uk
Location of treatmentsAll treatments are carried out where your horse is stabled, therefore treatment costing is dependant upon your location.

What happens during the treatment?I will take details of your dogs full medical history and then carry out a gait assessment where I will ask you to walk and trot your dog in a straight line. For working dogs e.g. obedience I will ask you to carry out some heel work. If there are particular issues I may ask you to demonstrate that action/activity.
After observing your dog in motion I shall implement a nose to tail assessment and any necessary adjustments will be carried out and explained fully during the treatment.
What Happens After TreatmentAftercare is as important as the treatment itself. Although it can be difficult to keep your dog quiet afterwards they will reap the rewards in the long term.
The most important thing is to find the balance between rest and exercise. Aftercare advice will be discussed with you on an individual basis.

Initial ConsultationYour first appointment will take between 60 to 90 minutes.
We will discuss your full medical history in addition to your reason for seeking treatment.
Having completed your record card I will discuss McTimoney chiropractic, including what the treatments involve, treatment plan, and how to take care of yourself afterwards. I will perform any orthopaedic or neurological tests that would be appropriate and then, with your consent carry out the treatment.
Follow up treatmentsAre generally carried out at weekly intervals to begin with. The time interval between appointments is gradually lengthened as you improve—The spacing depends very much on factors such as: • the nature of your problem. • your age and lifestyle. • the degree you are able to adapt advice/exercises
into your lifestyle.
Many patients also enjoy the benefit of maintenance treatments, much in the same way as you have check up visits at the dentists or service your car – the body and your spine are just as, if not more important!
• Full member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association.
• Fellow of the College of Chiropractors.
• Registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).
• Covered by most medical insurance companies, including:
BUPA, PPP, HSA, WPA Norwich Union, First Assist,
Legal and General, CS Healthcare and Standard Life.
• Free Car Parking available.
• Appointments available until 9pm.
• Treatments for Horses, Dogs and Cats.

Coatings supplier has IT coveredAbout SigmaKalonSigmaKalon (part of PPG Industries) – one of the leading global suppliers of decorative, marine, protective and industrial coatings – has invested over £100,000 in mobile data capture hardware and software from Psion Teklogix.
RequirementsSigmaKalon has used Psion Teklogix hand-held and forklift truck-mounteddata capture devices at its Birstall, West Yorkshire manufacturing plant andwarehouse facility, for some two years. Now, with the aim of increasing theaccuracy of data collection, the speed of data processing and reducing thecosts incurred by its current paper-based manual system, the company hastaken the decision to roll out the use of barcode and digital data capturetechniques further into its supply chain.
The SolutionThe project will focus on replacing the paper forms used by SigmaKalon forproof of delivery at retail outlets served by its in-house vehiclefleet and Psion Teklogix will supply Electronic Proof of Delivery (EPOD) application software and services based on itsTekMobile systemtogether with 60 Psion Teklogix Next Generation WORKABOUT PROhand-held computers.
BenefitsThe new system will give SigmaKalon the functionality – in electronic form– of its existing paper documents. Information such as proof of delivery(including signature capture), vehicle checks, the driver’s weekly log and expenses claim will all be transmitted from the field back to SigmaKalon’s head office using GPRS. As well as functioning as a data capture device, the WORKABOUT PRO operates as a cellular phone, which means SigmaKalon’s mobile workers can call customers, and send data back to headquarters – allwith one mobile device.
“We have used Psion Teklogix equipment within our manufacturing andwarehouse facilities for some years, so when the time came for us to spreadthe use of data capture further into the field, we had no hesitation in calling on them for advice. However, we undertook a very comprehensive andthorough tendering process before deciding that the Psion Teklogix offerbest matched our requirements in terms of cost and solution design,” saidSteve Jackson, SigmaKalon’s logistics controller.

CASE STUDY 3663FIRST FOR FOODSERVICES
Requirements• To remain competitive in a tough
marketplace• To make the best use of time and labour• To reduce the errors associated with the
existing ‘pick and stick’ labeling system
The solution• Voice technology• VocollectTalkmanT2 terminals• Bespoke WMS software
Benefits• Quick and accurate stock movements• Greater flexibility for warehouse staff• Improved management information• Improved warehouse administration
Service comes first with end-to-end voice technology solution About 3663With 1.25 million square feet of storage in 39 depots across the country,3663is a major player in the food service industry. It has over 6,300 employeesand a modern fleet of 1,000 vehicles delivering to a customer base of 50,000 organisations in the food, catering and leisure sectors. The companyhas 3 divisions dealing with ‘Frozen, Fresh and chilled’, ‘Multitemperature’ and‘Logistics’.
RequirementsManagement at 3663’s Logistics Division decided to change the company’sprocesses and supporting IT infrastructure to help boost profit margins. This was particularly important as the manual ‘pick and stick’ labelling systemthat had been running did not make the best use of time and labour andcould be prone to errors. 3663 selected Psion Teklogix to implement Voicetechnology to boost accuracy and productivity across the organisation’s fourlogistics depots in Banbury, Lichfield, Royton and Heywood. The company’s warehouse management system (WMS) was enhanced to introduce voiceenabled modules, with PsionTeklogix acting as the project manager.
The SolutionState of the art voice picking technology manufactured by Psion Teklogixpartner, Vocollect, was implemented. Floor staff now wear a lightweightVocollect Talkman T2 Terminal which receive a prioritised list of jobs fromthe WMS to guide the wearer through the stages of the warehouse cyclefrom goods-in, to replenishment, picking and marshalling. The hands and eyesfree solution instantly updates the WMS by sending data from the headsetto the WMS in real-time.
Benefits Implementing a voice directed system has enabled 3663’s workers to movestock more quickly and accurately through the depots. The system is designedso that employees actions are right the first time and can’t move to the next action until they have completed a job correctly.
The WMS also allows the management team to access real-time informationshowing the precise time a product arrives at the depot, how quickly it isstored, picked, and the length of time it takes to load onto the lorry beforebeing delivered to the customer. The solution has improved warehouseadministration as well as speeding up invoicing, given a better view ofwhat goods are coming in from the suppliers, and driven productivity andaccuracy.

CASE STUDY palletline
Requirements• Traceability on product (pallet)• Increase accuracy
The solution• Vigo signature capture software pod
software• Psion Teklogix new iKon Benefits• GPS function on the iKon establishes
where product has been left• Drivers can communicate using the iKon
as a telephone• Cut down in administration duties
Palletline are going all the way with the help of Vigo and Psion TeklogixAbout PalletlineIn 1992 Palletline pioneered the introduction of a hub and bespoke distribution system for palletised goods, launching the UKs first overnight delivery service with onward links to Ireland and Europe.
Palletline solution from Vigo Software Vigo Software, a supplier of specialist software to leading logistics and overnightpallet companies for 26 years, has won a contract to provide Palletline withsignature capture software that will enable Palletline to trace the movement ofpalletized loads to the point of delivery across the UK and Ireland.
The software means that Palletline can now operate a five point track and trace system that allows deliveries to be monitored from the moment a pallet is collectedto the point where it is received at its final destination.
Palletline operates the UK’s original hub and spoke pallet distribution operation anduses a barcode scanning system that first scans pallets as they leave the collecting depot within the Palletline network and then scans them again as they arrive at thecentral hub.The pallets are scanned once more as they depart the hub on theirway to the delivery depot were they are scanned once more as they continuetheir journey on outbound vehicles to their recipient.
Until the decision to invest in the new proof of delivery (POD) software, Palletline’smember companies had used a variety of paper-based POD systems.
Palletline is one of the first company’s to introduce Vigo’s new signature capture software – which is a web-based system - to allow pallets to be traced rightthrough the supply chain to the point of delivery.
Interestingly, the Vigo solution has been available for some two years but its takeup has been limited, hindered by the lack of quality signature capture hardware onthe market. While the software is compatible with a range of mobile computers,Vigo has recommended that Palletline members use the new iKon rugged PDA(personal digital assistant) from PsionTeklogix.
A sleek, compact and powerful design with robust built-in functionality, iKôn is anideal mobile computing device, delivering increased productivity and efficiency by enabling a host of advanced mobile applications to be carried out from a singleunit.
iKôn packs incredible functionality into a compact form and offers class-leadingergonomics, aesthetics, and ease of use.The iKôn has the highest battery capacityin the market giving it 14 hours of use and can scan barcodes with its integratedimager or scanner, or use its inbuilt camera to take a colour picture – making itideal forVigo and Palletline’s needs.
“We have used Vigo’s Hub and traffic software for a number of years so it makes sense to use their signature capture solutions. Vigo software now co-ordinatesthe whole Palletline track and trace operation,” says Kevin Bucannon, managingdirector of Palletline.
He continues: “The absence of a rugged hardware solution compatible withthe new software had forced us to delay introducing the software but with theintroduction of the new iKôn we have a product that meets our requirementsperfectly.”
“Efficient signature capture and proof of delivery is the final link in the overnight pallet distribution chain and we feel that the newVigo software system supportedby Psion Teklogix’s new iKôn hardware will bring significant cost advantages for haulage companies and allow them to make notable efficiency gains when it comes to the administration burden,” he added.
KeithTaylor, managing director ofVigo Software, commented:“Our software enablesthe final link in track and trace to be completed. The driver has the manifest for the day within his handset and apart from its signature capture functionality the iKônenables the Palletline members drivers to photograph goods and scan the palletsbarcode at point of delivery to ensure that the right load has been delivered. IKôn’sbuilt in GPS functionality means it is possible to identify precisely where goodshave been left while drivers can communicate using the iKôn’s telephone and textmessaging capability.”

CASE STUDY Thames Valley Police

• Tracking Assets -Thames Valley Police• To Streamline processes• To improve Health & Safety at Work

Ascendant Technologies

ames Valley Police track down their assetswith RFIDRequirementsThames Valley has become the first Police Force in the country to adopt an RFID asset management system. They use WORKABOUT PRO hand held terminals from Psion Teklogix to track equipment used at investigation scenes. By adopting a RFID (Radio Frequency identification) asset tracking system in November 2006 the force have revolutionised the visibility, tracking and stock rotation of its equipment used for investigations at crime scenes.
The RFID asset tracking solution was brought to the attention of Keith Henderson, Inspector in Charge of Operations at Thames Valley Police, in a demonstration by Trovan’s Police Security Consultant John Macintyre, of Mac’s Associates. Impressed at what he saw, Keith then turned to solutions company Ascendant Technologies to develop the software and integrate Trovan RFID hardware into the police equipment as well as the WORKABOUT PRO computers from Ascendant Technologies’ RFID partner, leading mobile computer technology company Psion Teklogix, to provide a complete RFID solution. Working with Keith and his team, Ascendant Technologies adapted its tool tracking software, called Tooltagz, to make it fit the requirements of Thames Valley Police by, for example, using their vocabulary and acronyms such as LPA (Local Police Authority) and URN (Unique Reference Number).
When an investigation has to be conducted at the scene of a crime or accident, Thames Valley Police sends for its investigation call out vehicles to bring the equipment required for crime scene management. Criminal investigations can require a vast array of equipment, which may include multiple spot lamps and their stands, generators, tents and shelters, is deployed not only to maintain the integrity of the scene to ensure forensic and other evidence can be collected but also to make the scene safe if, for example, it’s the location of a traffic accident.
The Solution in Action The new RFID system has revolutionised the process. A low frequency RFID tag is embedded in each item of Thames Valley Police’s crime scene equipment. Depending on the item the tags are either 25 or 13 mm diameter or for small items a tag the size of a grain of rice is used. Once the equipment has been set up on the scene, a member of staff reads each item with another WORKABOUT PRO kept in the van, which means it is now logged as being at the scene.
Given that police investigations can often take place in the middle of the night, perhaps in a field or woods, it is easy for equipment to be misplaced so when the equipment is put back on the van it is read again and this indicates instantly if anything has been left behind. As the items are returned from the van to the store, they are scanned once more and checked to see if they are fit for purpose.
The RFID system will also manage all of the mechanical and PAT testing of the equipment, by providing an automated maintenance schedule. Furthermore, the system can run and print reports for jobs that are imminent. With this system, Thames Valley Police have eliminated all of the paperwork previously associated with this process.
Knowing at any time the location of its assets also helps Thames Valley Police to improve their utilisation.. “You cannot compare our old system to the RFID system,” says an impressed Keith Henderson. “The system works well while the WORKABOUT PRO hand held units are very rugged with great functionality.”
As Thames Valley Police get used to their RFID system they are already beginning to see other areas where the technology can provide benefits – including registering valued items for the public. Indeed, when it comes to tracking assets, RFID is a compelling solution for all sectors.
Simon Heath comments: Together, RFID and the WORKABOUT PRO offer a very powerful solution.” Working on a Windows CE 4.2 platform, the rugged WORKABOUT PRO can incorporate RFID, barcoding and GPRS within the same unit.

FUN STORE OPENS!
A STAR IS BORN
Wizzo the starfish brought to life by Teikyo swimmer.
Congratulations to Holly Miller
aged 9 who swims at the Teikyo School
in Wexham for winning our ‘name the starfish’ competition.
Holly’s suggested name Wizzo, was one of 200
excellent and inspirational entries we received. Our team of select judges spent hours in private discussion at Seriously Fun HQ before deciding upon Holly’s suggestion.
When asked why she thought Wizzo was the best name for the school mascot, Holly replied; “because the starfish is cool and he can swim really fast!” sounds great we thought and so Wizzo was born.
Holly received vouchers to spend at the Fun Junction toy shop in Beaconsfield who specialise in games and learning activities for the young at heart.
Drowning is a final and deadly condition. Most of those who cannot swim will drown in a few
seconds, together with; sadly those that can swim whom also drown close to the bank within a very short period of time of them entering the water.
Along with this issue of SwimIN we have included a copy of the STA’s (Swimming Teacher’s Association) water safety leaflet for Mums and Dads.
We strongly believe in promoting water safety at all times. Raising awareness amongst children and parents is part of our ongoing mission to make all children safer around water. For further information please visit the water safety section of our website.
Swimming instruction is very effective at improving swimming performance: the ability to dive, swim underwater, breathe correctly, and tread water. Swimming ability should be promoted as a necessary component of water competence, but with the understanding that swimming ability alone is not sufficient to prevent drowning**.
*ROSPA. Royal Society For The Prevention Of Accidents.**European Child Safety Alliance.
Baby & Pre-school parents can now get all there swimming equipment through our Fun store.
Happy Nappy: Specially designed for baby swim schools, the Happy Nappy is very effective at reducing the risk of nappy leaks into the pool. Many swim schools (including ours) in England, France and The US have made it obligatory for their lessons as the most effective swim nappy available.
Baby Wrap: Made from soft pliable neoprene (wet suit material), and styled to insulate your baby’s body heat. Your baby will be more comfortable when swimming and so encouraged to relax and enjoy fun sessions.
ARE YOU SAFE MAN?
Drowning is the third most common cause of accidental death among the under 16s*.

Our Water Safety Lessons are unique. Help us to help your child.
On the penultimate lesson of every term all children take part in a Water Safety Lesson. Children are reminded about the dangers of water and are asked to remember the water safety code, a water specific set of rules similar to the green cross code for pedestrians.
We have been running the water safety lessons every term for over 10 years now and we want to make parents aware of what is contained in the lessons. If parents can ask their children what they have learnt it will help them to remember it at a time when they may need it most.

Please make a note of our following policies as they are designed to help your child get the most from their lesson.
Swimming hats • Compulsory at Teikyo & St. Pirans from September 2006!
In response to requests from parents, the schools and our own policies regarding health & safety, all children will be required to wear a swimming hat from September 2006. Our NEW Seriously Fun hats will be available to buy on poolside for just £1. Please ensure you have a swimming hat ready for September.
Long shortsPlease ensure that all boys wear either short swimming shorts or swimming trunks. This enables them to move through the water with less resistance.
GogglesWe recommend that children do not wear goggles as it helps them to build natural water confidence. It also reduces the time spent adjusting goggles during the lesson.

What shall Phase 1 work cost?
Based upon figures provided by our architect and quantity surveyor, and adding in contingencies for inflation and
unforeseen costs, we estimate that the Phase 1 project will cost around £150,000, including VAT.
How shall we pay for the work?our goal is to fund the work by:
• Launching a St. Mary’s Building Appeal from the congregation for gift aided donations either in the form of one-off gifts or gifts payable by monthly standing order over a period of up to 3 years. We need to raise at least £75,000 from the Building Appeal.
• St. Mary’s PCC has agreed to donate £25,000 from its own working funds.
• We shall be approaching a number of grant making charities that are committed to supporting Grade 1 listed buildings. Our goal is to raise £25,000 from this source.
• Finally, we shall begin in 2008 to undertake a small number of key fundraising events from which we plan to raise £25,000.
It is our goal to have received sufficient pledges from the St. Mary’s congregation by Sunday 14
October that would mean we shall have met or exceeded our Building Appeal target of £75,000.
That will allow us to then finalise the building plans, prepare to go out to tender and approach other funding organisations for their support.
Our objective is to begin the refurbishing work immediately after Easter 2008.

Buildingfor the
Future
What role will the refurbished building play in the life of St. Mary’s?God has given St. Mary’s a clear vision of how we are to be His church. We have been called to “Draw our community into a loving relationship with the living God”, and our church building has a vital role in our serving God in that vision. It is the place where we gather together to worship the living God. The church building is at the heart of our church community life. It is the place from which we go out to serve Him and our community. It is also the place to which we return time and time again to be refreshed and renewed, and to welcome others who are seeking a new or deeper relationship with the living God.
Achurch building equipped for the 21st Century is an indispensable
part of our being God’s church community at St. Mary’s.
Yet, the most inspiring and exciting vision will fail without the means and resources to carry it out. We need both
your prayers and your financial support.
The success of raising the funds for the Phase 1 will depend upon the generosity, determination
and commitment of the St. Mary’s congregation. It is our responsibility to give the lead in this project.
Outside charitable donors will be looking for us to provide the bulk of the funding.
If we are to take seriously God’s call
upon our lives and as a church community to serve Him, now is the time for us to be ready to walk in new places of sacrificial giving to respond to His call. Will you walk with us? Will you generously support this project?

Three years ago St. Mary’s set out to see our church facilities transformed and fit for
service in a new century. Many of our facilities are at or near to the end of their working life. We believe that it is our privilege, as the current generation, to see the church fully refurbished, leaving a legacy of a church building fit for future generations.
We have identified three key needs for our building:
• To expand our facilities, and increase the church seating capacity. St. Mary’s is a thriving church.
• Have flexible facilities, making the best use of our space.
• Have accessible facilities for a new 21st century generation, for the disabled, and for the elderly.
We have consulted widely with the congregation, the Diocese, and with many organisations interested in preserving ancient buildings. Our goal has been to preserve the character and beauty of our almost 840-year-old glorious Grade 1 listed medieval building in such a way as to continue to allow us to build and grow St. Mary’s congregation in the 21st century.
We believe that the refurbishment plans retain the beauty of our
church’s ancient character, while at the same time addressing our three key needs.
We are now ready to begin Phase 1, which is the refurbishing of the church building. Phase 2, which
will involve expanding the Parish Room into a St. Mary’s Centre will be one to two years behind the refurbishment.
What will Phase 1 work involve?
• A new Nave under floor heating system, replacing our forty-year old boiler and radiators. New heating in the Chancel.
• A new nave floor of large riven ceramic tiles, in keeping with our medieval chancel tiles. The Nave floor will be level and without any doorway steps or chancel step.
• Substantial electrical rewiring work and a new lighting system to replace the current pre-World War Two lighting.
• The ground floor of the Tower will become a crèche on Sundays with glass doors, and an overflow seating area for special services. The font will be returned to its original position behind the main church door.
• The bells will be rung from a new floor in the Tower, which will double as a quiet prayer space, especially on weekdays.
• High quality chairs, in keeping with the building, will replace the pews. A levelled floor allows Sunday morning seating to be expanded to about hundred seats from the current seventy places in the pews.
• A new audiovisual desk at the rear of the church, with a projector discreetly suspended from the Chancel ceiling and an electric projector screen hidden behind a Chancel beam when not in use.
• The communion rails will be retained as a feature behind the altar to conceal additional heating for the Chancel.
