Tourism in Ecuador

INTRODUCTION

15

Page 17: Portafolio ingles

Ecuador has many great tourist attraction areas that stand out for its diverse culture and rich biodiversity, among these, the central mountains and the Amazon, rich in wealth.

The areas you visit, is characterized by oil production, logging, farming and ranching in the Amazon region, as for the Sierra region, we have a crop, livestock and flower.

Tourism is the third line of Ecuador's foreign exchange after oil exports, remittances from migrants and bananas. The largest number of tourists from the U.S., Europe (especially Germany) and Latin America (mainly Colombia).

There are also domestic tourism is traveling for vacation or for business or work. In terms of ecotourism, Ecuador offers many options due to its wide variety of environmental conditions, creating an impressive diversity of habitats and vegetation types. Have been recorded more than 920 attractions, of these, about 520 are natural, especially the national parks, forests, rivers and lakes, mountains.

BODY OR MAIN PART

Natural vegetation is mostly grass, adapted to cold soils that retain a lot of water, so the Reserve is considered as a true "sponge" that supplies the lifeblood to the entire province of Carchi. They are the birthplace of many rivers that eventually deposit their water in major river basins Watch and The Angel, not in vain are considered wetter moors of Ecuador.

The areas surrounding the reserve have been deforested for agriculture and fuel wood. Thus, the Fed tries to maintain its natural cover and protect the forests, especially frailejones, typical landscape of this desert that dominates about 85% of its surface.

Since within the area there are private and communal properties before the creation of the Reserve, the traditional practice of farming and livestock creates certain threats to the ecosystems it supports. The soil cover is broken for these purposes and excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides have polluted some rivers of the place, to all this are frequent burning of grassland by farmers in order to prepare the soil for planting. However, these activities have been declining steadily since the establishment of the Reserve

CONCLUSION. -

The location of tourism in the country's economy is obtained by comparing the income of foreign currency from tourism, compared to earnings from exports of primary products, tourism ranks fourth maintaining stable growth, while the main oil export is going through difficult times for the low price in international markets. However this does not indicate that tourism gets to play a more important now because as you know the future of Ecuador is in the timber industry.

In conclusion, tourism in the country's economy is very important for the development of our peoples.

12.- PLEASE UPLOAD YOR RESEARCHING ABOUT THE PASSIVE VOCIE

CARCHI STATE POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY Tourism and Ecotourism School

Name: Isabel Rosero

Use of Passive

Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known, however, who or what is performing the action.

Example: My bike was stolen.

In the example above, the focus is on the fact that my bike was stolen. I do not know, however, who did it.

Sometimes a statement in passive is more polite than active voice, as the following example shows:

Example: A mistake was made.

In this case, I focus on the fact that a mistake was made, but I do not blame anyone (e.g. You have made a mistake.).

Form of Passive

Subject + finite form of to be + Past Participle (3rd column of irregular verbs)

Example: A letter was written.

17

Page 19: Portafolio ingles

When rewriting active sentences in passive voice, note the following:

the object of the active sentence becomes the subject of the passive sentence the finite form of the verb is changed (to be + past participle) the subject of the active sentence becomes the object of the passive sentence (or is

dropped)

Examples of Passive

Tense Subject Verb Object

Simple PresentActive: Rita writes a letter.Passive: A letter is written by Rita.

Simple PastActive: Rita wrote a letter.Passive: A letter was written by Rita.

Present PerfectActive: Rita has written a letter.Passive: A letter has been written by Rita.

Future IActive: Rita will write a letter.Passive: A letter will be written by Rita.

HilfsverbenActive: Rita can write a letter.Passive: A letter can be written by Rita.

Examples of Passive

Tense Subject Verb ObjectPresent Progressive

Active: Rita is writing a letter.Passive: A letter is being written by Rita.

Past ProgressiveActive: Rita was writing a letter.Passive: A letter was being written by Rita.

Past PerfectActive: Rita had written a letter.Passive: A letter had been written by Rita.

Future IIActive: Rita will have written a letter.Passive: A letter will have been written by Rita.

Conditional IActive: Rita would write a letter.Passive: A letter would be written by Rita.

Conditional IIActive: Rita would have written a letter.Passive: A letter would have been written by Rita.

Passive Sentences with Two Objects

Rewriting an active sentence with two objects in passive voice means that one of the two objects becomes the subject, the other one remains an object. Which object to transform into a subject depends on what you want to put the focus on.

Subject Verb Object 1 Object 2Active: Rita wrote a letter to me.Passive: A letter was written to me by Rita.Passive: I was written a letter by Rita.

18

Page 20: Portafolio ingles

.

As you can see in the examples, adding by Rita does not sound very elegant. That’s why it is usually dropped.

Personal and Impersonal Passive

Personal Passive simply means that the object of the active sentence becomes the subject of the passive sentence. So every verb that needs an object (transitive verb) can form a personal passive.

Example: They build houses. – Houses are built.

Verbs without an object (intransitive verb) normally cannot form a personal passive sentence (as there is no object that can become the subject of the passive sentence). If you want to use an intransitive verb in passive voice, you need an impersonal construction – therefore this passive is called Impersonal Passive.

Example: he says – it is said

Impersonal Passive is not as common in English as in some other languages (e.g. German, Latin). In English, Impersonal Passive is only possible with verbs of perception (e. g. say, think, know).

Example: They say that women live longer than men. – It is said that women live longer than men.

Although Impersonal Passive is possible here, Personal Passive is more common.

Example: They say that women live longer than men. – Women are said to live longer than men.

The subject of the subordinate clause (women) goes to the beginning of the sentence; the verb of perception is put into passive voice. The rest of the sentence is added using an infinitive construction with 'to' (certain auxiliary verbs and that are dropped).

Sometimes the term Personal Passive is used in English lessons if the indirect object of an active sentence is to become the subject of the passive sentence.

Passive Voice

La voz pasiva se utiliza cuando se desea expresar una acción poniendo más énfasis en el objeto que en la persona que realiza dicha acción. Por ejemplo:

You boil the water for two minutes.

Esta oración indica que alguien hierve el agua durante dos minutos. En la siguiente oración, sin embargo, se expresa lo mismo pero sin importar quién realiza esa acción.

The water is boiled for two minutes.

19

Page 21: Portafolio ingles

Para formar la voz pasiva, se toma el verbo en cuestión y se lo convierte al participio pasado. Luego se agrega el verbo to be en la conjugación y tiempo que corresponde al nuevo sujeto.Por ejemplo:

The police rescued the boy.The boy was rescued by the police.

That horse kicked me!I was kicked by that horse!

The police arrested the thieves. The thieves were arrested by the police.

I peel the tomatoes. The tomatoes are peeled.

El objeto indirecto también puede pasar a ser sujeto en la voz pasiva:

They gave me the Oscar in 1998.I was given the Oscar in 1998.

En el último ejemplo, no es necesario colocar el complemento agente (by them) ya que no agrega ninguna información adicional a la oración. En cambio, en el ejemplo que sigue, se puede colocar el complemento agente (by the Academy) ya que indica quién realiza la acción.

The Academy gave me the Oscar in 1998.I was given the Oscar in 1998 by the Academy.

Passive Voice Structure

Active Voice Passive Voice

They make Fords in Cologne. Fords are made in Cologne. Present Simple

Future Intention with Going to

I. use

It is very easy to build, and is based on a combination of the verb BE (not BE) at the appropriate time, plus the past participle of the verb to conjugate, which have participle agreement in gender and number with the new subject; the subject of the active sentence becomes preceded by the preposition "with" and become what we call human agency.

Los romanos construyeron el acueducto.Este acueducto fue construido por los romanos.La Academia de Cine ha dado un premio por su interpretación.Un premio de interpretación ha sido otorgado por la Academia de Cinematografía.

The gearbox is repaired by the new mechanic.Who will take the music to the party?

II. useThis construction is not very important in the current Spanish, although much less than in French and even less than in languages like English. However, it is desirable to have some knowledge about its construction and use.

The passive voice is used primarily to highlight the subject. It expresses the agent of action-in the passive sentence, if it is someone or something undefined and not important or if you do not know or interest.

The goods have been sent late.During the strike, the mail was distributed. The new stadium will be completed within a year.A famous actress has just been kidnapped outside his home. The dangerous terrorist is wanted by the police. My father was always considered a great expert.

Huaranga was a pre-Columbian tribe, which had its territory in what is now the province of Bolivar

this carnival has special music that was not possible, as the saying of the Cacique and his advisers are using it in a normal party. It was something that came from above, and in something that has height, and significance of employ. And it was so brilliant to walk the path of life of the seat, they found that of more significance and that, without consideration of social classes, ages, sexes and physical and moral conditions, the celebrated. Celebration in which everyone, absolutely everyone enjoyed equally. For three full days in the second moon of each year: they danced, played, drank and ate where and which gave them the most exquisite and abundant snacks, including the only drink available to them in those times: the well-seasoned chicha. The employ in this celebration.

THE CARNIVAL TAITA

"The Taita Carnaval" is undoubtedly a character of the Festival guarandeña. His "existence" goes back to the mythology of the Indian people who lived in pre-Hispanic times what is now the capital of the province of Bolivar and surrounding areas

Let us start with the fact that "Taita" in Quechua, means Father. It would therefore be the "Father Carnaval". Our natives had as one of their gods into the giant Andean, the highest of the volcanoes in Ecuador, Chimborazo, which is also called "Taita", and other God Pachacamac, who called the "Great Taita." Both in their religious beliefs, as new who arrived with the conquistadors, the Divine is treated as Taita or as Father, with deformations to the diminutive. It is known, loved and accepted by all citizens. Has a tradition that is closely related to the very essence carnival.

The "Taita Carnaval", dressed in sheep's wool poncho, hand woven, striped, colorful, cloth hat, pants and overcoat, makes his grand entrance to Guaranda, eight days before the Sunday of Carnival, with the Municipal band that sings the carnival, full of dishes with meats carnival, dances, parades, floats, "blue Bird", streamers, amid the joyous dance. Is the official start of the celebrations. It is an impressive opening celebration. After entry of the "Taita Carnaval"

light parties everywhere. The celebrations last for

THE BURIAL OF THE CARNIVAL

In the village of chews, parish of Santa Fe province of Bolivar, bury the carnival on the first Sunday of Lent, after a week of festivities.

The people of chews elect a member of the community, usually the "silly" of the place-to personify the party that day. The multicolored dress up clothes

and hats covered in dust, paint their faces, put their hands on a guitar and a bottle and take it, shoving, laughter, shouts and catcalls at the top of the nearest hill. There many people expected the event. When it's character, they all dance around and sing the carnival. Don Carnival dance till you drop, not only for dancing but also by pushing it receives. At that time bring straw and completely cover Don Carnival. But leave an escape hatch for the rising star covered the eyes of those present by "relatives" who surround him with gestures and cries simulating a moving cry. Immediately set fire to the pile of straw and dance until reduced, while singing

Ya se acaba el carnaval,

muchachos, a trabajar,

para el año venidero

tener plata que gastar.

¡Adiós, adiós carnaval!

EL GALLO COMPADRE

As you know all Bolivar, on Shrove Tuesday at 12 pm the party is over Shrovetide everywhere. However in the new field starts. They celebrate the peasants and Indians chagras after receiving the tip Ash that the Catholic Church all his followers.

Longing for the happy hours during the past three days, in order to shed the sad result that left so pleasing remembrance, all the people who took part in the festival seeks to take the field, rather out of town. Know where to go because at about ten

o'clock in the morning of Ash Wednesday begin to get groups of peasants on horseback, carrying a flag, soaked guitars and drums, either powdered and drunk singing means the Carnival which boast the most deciders and pungent verses composed by them. The same groups of Indians in disguise, and it bleached, painted their faces with dyes, half drunk, carrying a whip to the arm or back, also singing Carnival pingullo to the sound of a drum or a bass drum. Each other through the city, inviting people to attend the village where they belong.

Usually, after taking lunch, countless groups of every kind and class are routed to the place where you know there Compadre Gallo. Vinchoa, Casipamba, Pircapamba, Shunguna, Chalata, Loma del Cacique are known places where the game is done properly is not that Indians are the protagonists. Are chagras, on the one hand they want to do business selling liquor, things to eat at the large turnout, and secondly to provide the show to family, friends, visitors, etc.. In order to have precise knowledge of where this game will

take place planted a flag on the highest part 1, looking for that

24

Page 26: Portafolio ingles

really has a flat side to implement the program. It is then that, seeing that there is great competition, horse poke a few peasants carrying their respective curb and rooster under his arm. Any of them offers the act to the crowd that has come to form a closed circle around. Disturbing the soil and buries the cock at ground leaving only the neck and head. Then ask the person who has sympathy, affection, whatever, to blindfold him and so decapitates his cock, warning that failure to do the three machetes have to pay a bottle of brandy. Has been accepted the proposal, with a large handkerchief bandage the eye. In steps before being blindfolded, you do measure the distance from where he is standing where the rooster. They make you turn around three times in a position that faces the rooster. We deliver a sharp machete. They open to the crowd and ordered immediate action. If bandaged, giving the returns have not been lost, is heading for the rooster, and download one, two, three shots trying to behead him. The excitement of the crowd that shouts excited is the thermometer so you know if the cut or bandaged head. Had cut, it takes off the blindfold. Take the cock still kicking in the throes of death. Falling attendance: shatters the cock and bloody prey, with the expression of "Gallo Compadre" discharge tapping on whom they failed to take a prey. Comes the reward: a double cup or bottle mouth make him take a drink. It sounds the music is none other than the Carnival and break dancing, and then finishing, another owner of burying his cock for the same operation must continue until the completion of the cocks that never drop below ten

THE MUNICIPAL BAND,

Speaking of the Banda Municipal Guaranda leads us to the historical sources of cultural identity.Exalt the same as talking about the history comarcana and praise to the most sublime of the arts, music. And is that the Municipal Band has marched with Guaranda Century, forces us to go back even further back in time to find its origins.

It's very interesting to follow the course of its existence, according to people close to the Modulus of history that led the historian bolivarense
