TOOLS REQUIRED:
Here are the materials and supplies you’ll need to complete these projects:
For all:
• Pattern Pieces• Pom Poms• Polyester Fiberfill • Hand sewing needle and thread
For the animal cookies:
• At least 22” of fleece in either pink or white for either the elephant, camel or rhino
For the Pop Tarts:
• Two 8” x 12” rectangles of brown fleece for the small Pop Tart
• One 8” x 12” rectangle of fleece or Minky for the small Pop Tart frosting
• Two 12” x 18” rectangles of brown fleece for the medium Pop Tart
• One 12” x 18” rectangle of fleece of Minky for the medium Pop Tart frosting
• Two 16” x 24” rectangles of brown fleece for the large Pop Tart
• One 16” x 24” rectangle of fleece or Minky for the large Pop Tart Frosting
For the Donuts:
• Two 27” squares of brown fleece for the large donut
• One 27” square of fleece or Minky for the large donut frosting
• Two 18” squares of brown fleece for the medium donut
• One 18” square of fleece or Minky for the medium donut frosting
• Two 15” squares of brown fleece for the small donut
• One 15” square of fleece or Minky for the small donut frosting
Supplies:
AssemblyFor the animal cookies:
• From either white or pink fleece cut out two animal pieces. Align the pieces with right sides together and stitch the perimeter using a 3/8” seam allowance, leaving a 4- 5” opening for turning along the back leg. This is the straightest part of each animal and will make it easier to stitch the opening closed.
• Clip small notches or triangles, from the seam allowance along any curved areas.
• Turn the animal right side out and stuff with polyester fiberfill.
• Turn under 3/8” along the turning opening and pin; stitch in place either by hand or machine.
• Using a hand sewing needle and thread, stitch 25-30 pom poms to one side of the animal cookie. Be sure that the needle goes through the center of the pom pom, rather than just the “fluff” to ensure that it is securely stitched in place.

For the Pop Tarts:
• If using Minky for the frosting, along the perimeter fold fabric ¼” towards the wrong side; pin in place and then stitch 1/8” from the folded edge.
• Position the stitched Minky or fleece frosting in the center of one of the brown fleece rectangles; pin in place and then stitch the perimeter of the frosting using either a straight stitch, zig-zag stitch or blanket stitch.
• Align the previous stitched rectangle with the remaining brown fleece rectangle with right sides together. Stitch the perimeter using a ½” seam allowance, leaving a 4-5” opening for turning.
• Clip the corners and then turn right side out.
• Run your finger or a turning tool along the inside of each seam allowance to ensure that they are pressed out and that the two pieces are laying flat; pin the layers in place.
• Stitch the perimeter approximately 5/8” away from the edge, leaving the turning opening unstitched.
• Stuff with polyester fiberfill.
• Turn under ½” along the turning opening and pin; stitch in place either by hand or machine.
• Stitch 5/8” away from the edge along the turning opening.
• Using a hand sewing needle and thread, stitch 10-30 pom poms (depending on Pop Tart size) to the frosting section of the Pop Tart. Be sure that the needle goes through the center of the pom pom, rather than just the “fluff” to ensure that it is securely stitched in place.

For the Donuts:
• If using Minky for the frosting, fold fabric ¼” towards the wrong side along the outer perimeter of the frosting; pin in place and then stitch 1/8” from the folded edge.
• Position the stitched Minky or fleece frosting over one of the fleece donut pieces aligning the center openings; pin in place.

• Fold back and pin any area of the frosting that comes within ½” of the outer donut edge. Stitch the perimeter of the frosting using a straight stitch, zig-zag stitch or blanket stitch, leaving the pinned back areas unstitched.
• Align the previous stitched circle with the remaining brown fleece circle with right sides together. Using a ½” seam allowance, stitch the perimeter. Leave the center of the donut unstitched.
• Use a pair of pinking shears or clips small notches or triangles along the seam allowance.
• Turn donut right side out through center opening.

• Turn under ½” along the center of the donut ¾ of the way around the circle; pin in place and then stitch by hand or machine.
• Stuff with polyester fiberfill.
• Turn under ½” along the remaining unstitched center of the donut; pin in place and then stitch by hand or machine.
• Unpin and flatten out any area of frosting that was previously pinned back. Hand stitch the perimeter of those areas in place.
• Using a hand sewing needle and thread, stitch 10-30 pom poms (depending on donut size) to the frosting section of the donut. Be sure that the needle goes through the center of the pom pom, rather than just the “fluff” to ensure that it is securely stitched in place.
