Dit hetek gekry tydens die Follicle HairAtelier handelsmerk-ambassadeurfotosessie.Die wat ons volg op sosialenetwerke sal weet dat Pols op ‘nmissie was die laaste paar weke.Ons was bevoorreg genoeg om nieeen nie, maar drie massiewefotosessies te kon doen in tweedae. Ja, dit verg bitter baiebeplanning, maar dit is al die ureen elke sekonde die moeite werd.As mens die foto’s sien en jy weetin jou hart- die is ons lewe en onsroeping. Jy weet dat daar niksanders in die hele wye wêreld iswat jy eerder sou wou doen nie.Ek weet na die paar dae, dat daarhoegenaamd niks is wat ek niesaam met die span mense sal kanaanpak nie. Hulle maak dieonmoontlik, moontlik. Ek is totaalen al oortuig dat hulle enige ietsmoontlik kan maak.Dit vat soms net ‘n glimlag, drukkie,gesels, belangstelling of oogkontakom ‘n ordinêre oomblik,buitengewoon te maak.

MMAs mens oop is om in te neem isdaar soveel wat jy van ander kanleer en begryp. Soms moet mensbloot luister.Die voorblad was die een wat ekvoel gaan Pols op ‘n ander vlakvestig en met die nuwe erawaarin Pols beweeg, is ons ookbaie opgewonde om met BELFuture Apps hande te vat om aanelke Pols-lesers die geleentheidte bied om ‘n gratis ‘PolsMagazine’ App af te laai, waarons alles onder een sisteem gaanhardloop. Daar gaan baie agterdie skerm beeld wees en danksystiki.co.za, gereelde GRATISgeskenkies. Dit is ons manier omaan elke lesers iets terug te geeen ook groei ons saam met dienuwe era om gemak aan almalte bied met ’n alles in eenapplikasie. Die Pols App isbeskikbaar op Android enbinnekort op Apple.Dit is die vreemdste gevoel omvoor en agter die kamera tewees.

Met die voorblad-fotosessiewas dit die geval. Om byna 40mense op ’n voorblad in tepas, is nie ’n maklike taak nie,maar dit is iets anders en diswaarna ons strewe. Dierespek, samesyn, begrip,liefde en passie wat dieFollicle-familie getoon het,was ongelooflik. Dit was onsgrootste fotosessie totdusvêr en ‘n eerste in SA.Ek is trots om deel van dieFollicle Hair Atelier familie tewees en hulle naam met trotste dra as handelsmerkambassadeur, maar ook omvir die wonderlike mense dieerkenning te gee wat hulletoekom en hulle te vertoonop Pols se voorblad. Dankie,aan een en elk van die sterre,stiliste, span, tegnici, borge,vennote en vertroueling watdeel was van die rekord-brekende voorblad.Ons is trots, dankbaar entevrede!

Saam met julle glo ekin die limiet-vrye, diebuite-die-boks en diebaanbrekendesituasies en ek weetdat daar nog soveelgeleenthede is. Elkedag, in elke situasie isdaar iets om van teleer. Dis die dingetjieswat ons mens maak,anders was ons netprentjies...

Soapie Award 2015 nomination evening held at The Venue, Melrose Arch on19 February 2015. When asked what he thought of the evening he said, ‘it is alwaysa great feeling when actors and crew come together to celebrate their craft and getappreciated for their dedication and hard work. It was genuinely a star-filled eveningand Goliath and Goliath got the crowd rolling with laughter’. From designer stubble to a full-fledged lumberjack inspired

beard, anything goes!  The most important aspect to keep in mind

is that a beard needs the same care and attention that you give your hair and an

un-kept beard could quickly become out of hand.

As a general rule, keep the cheeks and neck clear of any stray hairs, a neatly

trimmed perimeter will immediately invoke a sense of personal grooming and

style.  A beard, as with the rest of your face, needs daily washing and conditioning,

Your hairstyle should complement your beard rather than competing with it. Shorter sides with a

bit more length on top to keep the balance with your facial hair. Sides can go from neatly cropped

to a short undercut, blended into the skin for the more adventurous, with the longer top combed

to the side in a classic comb-over or sleeked back. A side parting with the hair taken back

wood, in an array of shapes and sizes in the form of beads or cylinders that are placed in the

Raspberries belong to the rose family are my favouriteberry, I love their bright red delicious little bodies besides being one of themost attractive berries with wonderful flavour they are a rich source  of

vitamins and minerals. The good news about raspberries is that they are low incalories, thank heavens I shovel them down my throat at a rate of knots.

Fresh raspberries are an excellent sources of vitamin-C, maybe that’s why Ihardly get a cold, Vitamin C is also a powerful natural antioxidant, and 100 g

berries provide 26.2 mg or about 47% of DRI of vitamin C.

Raspberries generally available year-round either fresh or frozen. They are avery delicate berry and need to be handle with care. When you are shoppingfor raspberries give them the beady eye before you put them in your trolley,

Raspberry tart :Ingredients:

1 x 400g roll Todays Short crust pastry4 Tbsp. strawberry jam2 egg yolks125g smooth cottage cheese125ml fresh creamFresh raspberries to garnish the top ofthe tartIcing sugar, for dusting

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180ºC.Roll out the pastry up to about 1.5mmthickness, then line a 20cm loose-bottomed tart tin with it, press thepastry up the sides, prick the base of thepastry with a fork.Soften the jam with a spoon, and thenspread it over the base of the pastrycase.Mix the egg yolks, cottage cheese andcream together then pour over the jamlayer.Bake the tart in the pre-heated oven for30- 35 minutes, or until set.Arrange the raspberries over the top ofthe tart once it has cooled.Sprinkle with icing sugar.Serve with fresh cream or mascarponeor ice-cream

am astonished by how often I hear the phrase I JUST WANT TO BE HAPPY... or will I ever be

happy? Will I ever find happiness? It is amazing how thiswant and need has become a major part in our lives... andlet me start off by saying its actually an easy task tomanage if you know how... the key is to know yourself!

I see happiness like a mood, not a place or necessarily aconstant feeling, happiness is a state of being, andsometimes one has to decide to be happy no matter whatSometimes we have bad or good moods, and like anymood it can last a few moment or a few hours, this is howhappiness works, this state of being can easily be changedeither willingly or unwillingly.

Just like a bad mood can last for hours and can be broughton by something externally, something internally as well asbe taken away by our feelings, emotions, self talk or otherpeople, circumstances and outside influences, so canhappiness.]The more one can see happiness as a state, a mood thatcan be brought in or fabricated by yourself orcircumstances then you can take back power over yourown happiness, emotions and well being. It is a common fact that when one is happy then healthand abundance follows... It’s not so much what ishappening around you, who you are in a relationship withor how much money one has, sure these factors do play arole in general happiness, however it is during these timesthat I feel one should work even harder at keeping thestate of happiness alive...

I feel people chase this state and feeling too much notknowing that it can be there for 1 minute or a few days,but that it is up to us to spur it on, give it energy, ordeplete ourselves from it...

Ons het gaan inloer by kykNET se immer bekende oggend-gesels program, Ontbytsake, en het ’n

paar moet-weet vrae aan die aanbieders gevra. Die is paar vrae wat jy nie wil misloop nie. Leer

die bekwame, talentvolle en soms skreeusnaaks span ken.

Dawie RoodtDawie is sinoniem met Ontbytsake. Hy is al van begin dae af deel van die dinamiese span.1. Dawie, jy het nou al baie mense, aanbieders en kollegas gesien kom en gaan, ook onderhoude gevoer metvan die land se mees merkwaardigste mense, is daar iemand of iets wat na al die jare vir jou uitstaan en wat jyvir altyd sal onthou? Ek vrees altyd die vraag! Daar is natuurlik baie mense wat op hulle eie manier uitgestaan het.Sommige het my heeltemal onkant gevang (iets wat nie maklik gebeur nie) – en Dowwe Dolla kry hier die prys.Ander het my weer so beïndruk dat ek skoon bewoë geraak het – Hein Wagner wen hier, maar so was almal ophulle eie manier spesiaal.

2. Hoe het dit gekom dat ’n ekonoom ’n ankeraanbieder word? Dis regtig `n lang storie. Kortliks, ek het eendag in `n radio ateljee gesit vir `n onderhoud oor die finansiële markte. Die aanbieder het nie opgedaag nie en skielik bevind ek myself in dieaanbieder stoel. Daarna het kykNET vir my n program “Jou Geld” aangebied as aanbieder. Dit het vir `n hele klompie reekse geloop. Eendag het JohannJoubert, uitvoerende regisseur van Ontbytsake, my gevra vir `n onderhoud. Ek doen sulke goed baie maar die keer het jy voorgegee dis `n onderhoudmaar eintlik was dit `n oudisie. Na die “onderhoud” vra hy my of ek die program sal aanbied – dis nou meer as 11 jaar gelede. Ek het nou die dagprobeer tel hoeveel keer ek al TV anker was – ek reken so 800 keer en so 1800 keer radio anker.

3. Ontbytsake het ’n baie humoristiese lym, vertel asb. vir die lesers as julle van lug af netso skerts en grappies maaksoos op lug? Op lug of van die lug af, die gees bly presies dieselfde. Onthou, ons beplan nie alles nie – die meeste van dieregtig snaakse dinge gebeur spontaan. Ek dink die aanbieders ken en vertrou mekaar al so goed dat ons spangeesduidelik te sien is.  Jan Harm is veral baie vinnig met `n sêding.

4. Wat is jou gunsteling en moeilikste deel as aanbieder? Gunsteling is my ekonomiese praatjie, praatjie met Timen onderhoude met besondere mense. Slegte dele is onderhoude met mense wat net “ja” en “nee” antwoord.“Snaaks genoeg” is onderhoude met komediante soms baie moeilik. Daar is niks wat moeilik is nie…

5. Wat lê voor vir Dawie Roodt? Ontbytsake is nou al so lank aan die gang en ons kan dit almal al so goed doen dat dit geenmoeite is om dit aan te bied nie. Nogtans vat dit `n deel uit my week, maar die lekkerte maak darem daarvoor op. Ek sal nogal eendag `n nuusprogramwil aanbied en wie weet… Intussen het ek darem `n regte werk as `n ekonoom by die Efficient Groep.

Jy is sanger sowel as aanbieder, het jy ’n gunsteling en wat maak die twee delevan die vermaaklikheid industrie so besonders vir jou?Om aanbieder te wees is op die stadium definitief my gunsteling. Ek hou van die feit datdit vir mense by die huis voel asof jy saam met hulle kuier in hul sitkamers, en natuurlikis dit groot pret om saam met die span te kuier agter die kameras; dit raaksoms heel laf!2. Jy en Dawie skeer altyd die gek met mekaar, is julle van lug af ook sulke goeie vriende?Ou Dawid is een van my gunsteling persone op hierdie aardbol! Ek sien elke week uit naons karnuffel sessies op kamera en ja, ons is goeie vrinne agter die skerms ook. Ek genietdat hy homself nie te ernstig opneem nie, al is hy so ‘n bekende ekonoom en vermaaklikheidpersoon. So ja, ek sou sê ek het definitief ‘n sagte plekkie vir ou Duimpie!3. Watse oomblik op Ontbytsake staan vir jou uit? Jô, daar is te veel om van te kies! Miskien die episode wat Dowwa Dolla vir Dawie die kameeltoon dansprobeer leer het of toe ek vir Rolene my Mej. Suid-Afrika passies kon wys!4.Wat lê vir jou voor in 2015. Mens weet mos nie altyd wat die jaar gaan inhou nie, maar op die stadium sien ek uit om gasheer te speel by ‘n hele paarfunksies en samekomste in 2015. 1.       Hoe het jy betrokke geraak of het die idee ontstaan om eerstens aan Kokkedoor deelte neem? Druk van my kinders en n niggie! Ek het ook ingeskryf vir Kokkedoor 1 maar eersmet die tweede probeerslag ingekom..

2.       Hoe het jy by Ontbytsake op geëindig? Ek was gelukkig genoeg om genooi te word asgaskok op geleenthede wat Seline nie daar kon wees nie, en die liewe Hetta Van DeventerTerblanche het my aanbeveel by Ontbytsake se mense.

3. Jy is ’n huiskok en is gemaklik voor die stoof, is dit ’n aanpassing en meer druk om voor mense en op televisie tekook? Ek hou baie daarvan om met mense te praat oor wat ek doen. Selfs wanneer ek my spyskaart aan gaste by my etesverduidelik, raak ek so weggevoer met die kos-storie dat ek amper gestop moet word. Die kamera-praat is egter n nuweervaring en ek het nog baie om te leer voor ek regtig op my gemak sal wees daarmee. Dis nie regtig die “voor mense” niewant ek hou daarvan om die kookkuns te demonstreer…dis meer die “kamera”-ding wat vreemd is.

4. Wat sal jy sê is die moeilikste en lekkerste element van ’n bekende kok in SA? Die “bekende kok” ervaring is nog maar‘n nuutjie vir my…Maar as ek moet sê, is die “moeilike” element sekerlik om te sorg dat jy nie stagneer nie maar amper as’tware voor in die koor moet bly met vernuwende idees en wat die neigings of strominge in die kos wêreld is. Iets raak baievinnig “gister se nuus”! Die lekker is wanneer jy regtig kan sien mense weet van jou en waardeer wie jy is en waarvoor jystaan.

5. Wat lê vir jou voor in 2015? Ontbytsake is nou sentraal in my lewe! As ek my sin kan kry bly ek so lank soos Ula gedoenhet.;) Verder het ek ‘n verbintenis aangegaan met Karusaf, wat karoo-lamsvleis onderskryf en produseer. Hulle leuse is “fromthe gate to the plate” ek spot sommer en se dis in Afrikaans “van die hek tot die bek” hahaha maar op ernstiger noot, gaan ekbetrokke wees as handelsmerk-ambassadeur vir Karusaf. Ek en Mielie het ook n huis gekoop in Muckleneuck Pretoria, watons gaan ontwikkel as gastehuis so dis n groot jaar vir ons!

Eloise Cupido1. Hoe het jy besluit dat die vermaaklikheid bedryf jouberoepskeuse gaan wees?

Dit was nie ‘n droom wat ek al van my kinderjaregekoester het nie. Die verloop van omstandighede watgelei het tot my intrede tot die vermaaklikheidsbedryf kanNET as “Divine Intervention” beskryf word.  Op HoërskoolMontagu was ek deel van die span wat ‘n toneelstukopgevoer het vir ons skool se inskrywing vir dieToneelfees. Ons het met Marina Bekker en MarianneStander gewerk en die gogga het daar behoorlik gebyt.Steeds was dit nie ‘n natuurlike keuse vir ‘n meisie van so‘n klein dorpie nie. Marina het die saadjie geplant deur myte vra wat ek beoog om na skool te doen. Soos

die res van my klas het ek maar aansoek gedoen, maar hier agter in my kop het ek geweet studeer is niewerklik vir my beskore nie. Daar was eenvoudig nie geld nie.  Ek het aansoek gedoen vir fisioterapie enradiografie in die Kaap en, op aansporing van Marina, Drama by Tukkies. Soos die heelal dit wou hê, isTukkies al plek waar ek aanvaar word. Maar my Ma stel my toe in kennis dat dit finansieelonmoontlik sou wees. Ek bel Marina in trane, kry ‘n oproep van Carel Trichardt en toe ‘n oproep vanMarinda Terreblanche van Tukkies studente finansiëring en ‘n paar weke later is ek sak en pak, met‘n paar lenings in die sak, met die Munniks bus op Gauteng toe om hierdie mallemeuleholderstebolder lewe aan te pak.

2. Ontbytsake is een van die gunsteling programme op kykNET. Wat maak die program vir jouso spesiaal?

Die “magic” kom van die span af. Teen dié tyd is die program ‘n goed geoliede masjien. Die tegniese span onder leiding vanMelinda, Maderi en Rob Russell is ‘n ongelooflike ongesiene ondersteuningsnetwerk. Dit is wat dit moontlik maak vir ons om sogemaklik te kan wees en soveel pret te kan hê. Dis soos om in die familie kamer te kuier. Daar is geen egos waarvan ek bewus isnie. Die kamerade, veral tussen Jan Harm en Dawie, is tasbaar. Dit is soms moeilik om by so ‘n gedugte span aan te sluit, maarhulle het dit so gemaklik as moontlik gemaak en het my baie gou soos deel van die span laat voel. Elke week voel of ek in so ‘ngroot beer-drukkie toegevou word. Dis ongelooflik lekker om nog ‘n familie te kon skep.

3. Wie is die nar op stel en wie is die ernstige een?

Grote griet! Dit hang af van wat daai dag aan die gang is. Ek dink daai balletjie word nogal redelik rondgegooi. Alhoewel diemanne meeste van die tyd meer kanse benut vir gekskeer.  Ek kom agter ons dames is meestal ernstiger. Maar gee kans!

4. Jou gunsteling oomblik van Ontbytsake?

Daar is alreeds te veel om op te noem. Elke week gebeur daar kosbare oomblikke wat ek verewig koester. Ek mis dit om Selineelke week te sien. Ek is mos ‘n sentimentele mens en alhoewel ek nie bang is vir verandering nie, verander dit wel mens se ritme.Ek het al klaar ‘n magdom foto’s van wonderlike oomblikke. Ek moet net onthou om dit te ‘Post”…ai tog eendag.

5. Wat lê vir jou voor vir 2015

Daar is ‘n paar opwindende projekte waaraan ek werk. Natuurlik moet ek ook hierdie jaar mooi beplan aan my troudag. Hierdiejaar gaan ek werk maak daarvan om my musiek te bevorder en shows te reël en te doen. My ma se verjaardag behoort ‘n grootpartytjie later hierdie jaar op te lewer…ek is gewoonlik verstom wanneer ek terugkyk oor die jaar wat verby is oor wat ek als indaai tyd kon vermag en ek weet hierdie jaar sal nie teleurstel nie.

“8 Days” tells the story of 16-year oldAmber who, after sneaking to aparty with her friends, goes missing. Forced into theworld of sex trafficking, her family and communityfight to get her back. The film is inspired by actualevents. So much can happen in 8 Days.

THE PREMIERS

Two-hundred local and international role-players willattend each of the South African premiers of the film. TheUS cast and crew will also be in attendance at thescreenings.

They include director and producing team, Jaco andPhilipa Booyens, lead actress, Nicole Smolen, andsupporting actress and Mrs America 2013, AustinWilliams.

The red-carpet premiers will include a screening of the 93minute film as well as a performance by the Americansingers together with the cream of the crop from the South African music industry including

Riana Nel andAndries HendrikPotgieter.

A big media presence will also be visible during the red-carpet events and the whole project will be accompanied by alarge scale media and marketing campaign. The VIP eventswill allow ample time for the guests to network andsocialise.In South Africa, a dedicated ‘Anti-Child Sex Trafficking Fund’ hasbeen set-up under a public benefit organization, the Businessfor Empowerment Trust (“B4ET”), to ensure that the fundsraised by the various awareness campaigns are channelled toorganisations tasked with fighting human trafficking. The firstdistribution of R200, 000 will take place at the Johannesburgpremiere. The B4ET forms part of the “Business 4 Initiative”, aBEE project initiated by business and steered by Louis McLaren(www.b4i.co.za).
