Life.

Islam is an all-embracing way of life. It extends

over the entire spectrum of life, showing us how to

conduct all human activities in a sound andwholesome manner.

In QURAN - e Majeed, ALLAH Almighty says,

Indeed this Qur'an guides to the path which isclearer and straighter than any other.

He also says, We have revealed to you the Bookwhich clarifies every matter.

Politics as a term is generally applied to theart or science of running governmental or

state affairs, including behavior within civilgovernments, but also applies to institutions,fields, and special interest groups such as thecorporate, academic, and religious segmentsof society. It consists of social relations

involving authority or power and to themethods and tactics used to formulate andapply policy.

o Sovereignty of ALLAH

Almighty. Sovereignty means the source of power in Islam

(ALLAH). ALLAH Almighty is the main source of allpower and laws. He is its real Sustainer and Ruler.

Sovereignty of ALLAH Almighty in the political point ofview is that, all Muslim should obey ALLAH Almightybecause it our religious obligation. He is the realsovereign and His Will should reign supreme as theLaw.

An Islamic state must put these laws into practice forgreater good of its citizens.

o Concept of Day of Judgement. It is the Day in which ALLAH Almighty will resurrect all of

mankind who had ever lived on the Earth to judge them by theirdeeds and assign for them Paradise or the Hellfire.

The Islamic political system makes the government responsiblefirstly to ALLAH Almighty and then to the people. Both thegovernment and the governed are the Khalifah of ALLAH

Almighty and both will appear before ALLAH Almighty andaccount for their actions on the Day of Judgment.

In QURAN - eAzeem, ALLAH Almighty says, And let not thehatred of others make you swerve to wrong and departfrom Justice. Be just : that is nearer to piety.

o Legislation by Shura. Islam teaches us to run a government, to make legislation and

decisions by the process of Shura. Shura means to take decisionby consultation and participation.

Law making body of a state. Legislation by Shura meansdemocratic system of government that is ruled by a commonman.

It is refined system of ruling the state especially in that time whenthe world was ruled by ignorance and darkness. It is the pure

form of modern day democracy.

Hazrat Farooq - eAzam said, It is essential for a Khalifah toconsult his Shura.

o Rights of Minorities. The Islamic law has ensured several rights and privileges for non-Muslim

minorities. Perhaps the most important of which is the freedom of belief,which is stated in ALLAH's saying, There is no coercion in religion.

The Prophet MOHAMMAD (Peace be upon Him) says, Whoever kills acontracting man ( a non-Muslim protected by the state or an agreement )he will not smell the Paradise.

Muslims and non-Muslims were treated alike. Although the Arab peninsulawas declared to be purely an Islamic State, his attitude towards the non-Muslims was very tolerant. He allowed the Jews and the Christians, livingin the Peninsula, to stay there if they so wished and nobody would

interfere in their religious affairs. To those who desired to migrate heensured a safe journey up to the borders. Hazrat UMAR (R.A) also gavecompensation for their properties and other facilities.

and Democracy.

o Hazrat UMAR FAROOQ ThePioneer of Islamic Democracy.

Hazrat Umar (R.A) was the pioneer of moderncivilization who formed a state based upon the Islamicdemocratic system, the system which was incorporated

in the West as late as 19th and 20th centuries.

He was the greatest democratic administrator whoseexample is unparalleled not only in the history of Islambut also in the history of modern civilization. A vast partof the Middle East, Persian Empire and Byzantium, was

conquered during the ten years of his Khilafat which heconsolidated into a state governed by Islam.

o Accountability of Government. The government is elected by the people to exercise

powers on their behalf. Then government shall have towork for the welfare of the people according to the

Quran and Sunnah.

This accountability of government is not related onlywith the Day of Judgment but also in the present life.Any ordinary citizen of an Islamic state has the right toask any question on any matter to the ruler and the

government.

A ruler is the servant of the people. The responsibility ofthe ruler is heaver than the ruled.

o Independence of Judiciary.

In the Islamic political system, the Judiciary isindependent of the Executive. The head of the state orany government minister could be called to the court if

necessary. They would be treated no differently fromother citizens. The Quran has many injunctions about

justice. One of the main functions of the Islamic state isto ensure justice to all citizens.

Islam recognizes the preference of one over the otheronly on the basis of Taqwa (piety or fear of God). Onewho fears ALLAH Almighty most is the noblest in Islam.

o Equality before Law. In QURAN - e - Paak, ALLAH Almighty says , O

mankind! We have created you from a male and afemale, and made you into nations and tribes, that

you may know one another. Verily the mosthonorable of you with ALLAH Almighty is that(believer) who has at - Taqwa. Verily Allah is all -Knowing, all - Aware.

The Islamic political system ensures equality forall citizens before the law. It does not recognizeany discrimination on the basis of language,colour, territory, gender or descent.

o Non-Violent Activities (Peace

and Brotherhood). We, members of the Muslim brotherhood, Invite all those who

are involved in of violence to remember the advice of ourMessenger (peace be upon him) in the farewell PilgrimageSermon when he commanded us to protect the sanctity of blood,

honor, and property of every Muslim.

State can not run with out peace and harmony. Feeling ofbrotherhood like ANSARS ofMADINA. Only key point fordevelopment for nation

Woman in Islamic Political

System. Woman is a pure creation that ALLAH Almighty has honored her

just as He has honored man. In Islamic law a woman is anindependent, unique individual in her own right. Woman has thesame rights as the man regarding participation in parliamentary,

legislative and trade union elections. She also has the right tonomination and election at these councils. She has the right toany public office, except the Imamah Al-Uzmah ( the higher officeof ruling) and whatever else falls under that category. In any caseshe is not definitely a lower human being then the man

In Islam woman has the right to get Education, Hazrat

MOHAMMAD ( Peace be upon Him ) said, To seek knowledgeis obligatory on every Muslim.

o Khilafah

of Mankind

Khilafah is a trust. An agent is always expected to

behave as his master wants him to behave.

In QURAN - e Hakeem, ALLAH Almighty says, And remember when your Lord said to the angels,I am going to place a successor ( Khilafah ) onEarth.

Khilafah means succession or representative.

The Khilafah is the Head of State.
