Continue career: ifyoureturntothemainmenuduringthegame,yourcurrentcareerprogresswillbesavedtogetherwiththegamescore.Thecareercanthenbecontinuedbyselecting“Continue career”.
Acompletelynewshiftwillthenbegenerated,whichwillbeginwithanewbriefing.
Settings: game,graphicsandsoundsettings.Thetutorialcanbetoggledonoroff(onbydefault)under“Game”.

the gAMeTuTORiAl If the tutorial was switched on under “Settings” in the main menu, an interactive in-game tutorial will start prior to the first “genuine” patrol shift, which explains the basic functions and controls to the player. The first “genuine” shift will then start after completing the tutorial.

policemeninadynamicgameworld• Thegameplayisdividedinto“patrolshifts”.Eachshifttakes30realminutes(=
12gamehours)• Therearedayandnightshiftsthataresometimesinuniformandsometimesin
plainclothes.Dependingonthetypeofshift,differentincidentsmayoccur• Eachshiftbeginswithabriefing.Therelevantordersofthedayareissued

CoNtRoLSGenerally,themouseandthekeyboardareusedforcontrollingthegame(thebasiccontrolsaredealtwithindetailinthetutorial).Theplayeronlycontrolsonepolicemanineachcaseandtheotherfollowsautomatically(ItispossibletoswitchbetweenthegamecharactersbypressingtheTABkey).
• Right-clickingontheinteractiveobjecttriggersanaction,e.g.,asuspectwillbearrestedifyouhavehandcuffs
• Equipment,personsorvehiclesareselectedbyleft-clickingandalsouserinterfaceelementsaretoggledonoroff
• Thereareseveralspecialbuildingsintheindividualdistrictsoftheareaofoperationthatcanbeenterediftheplayermoveshisgamecharactersnearthemandthenright-clicksonthebuildingtoopenitsdoor(themousepointerchangestoadoorsymbolifitismovedoverthecorrespondingbuilding).
• Ifthegamecharactersareneartheirownsquadcar,theycanenteritbyright-clickingit.Thesquadcaristhencontrolledinthesamewayasthecharacters“on foot”.Right-clickingagaincausesthegamecharacterstogetoutofthevehicle.
• PressingandholdingdowntheShiFTkeyacceleratesthegamecharactersorthesquadcar.Increasedspeedcanbeparticularlyusefulduringachase!
CAR ChASeS Inthisspecialmode,theplayerpursuesgetawayvehiclesinhissquadcarinordertostopthemandarrestthedriver.
A getaway car can be stopped in two ways:•Thesquadcarramsthegetawaycar. Note:thedriverofthegetawaycarcan
beinjuredbythisandthe“life energy”ofthegamecharactercouldalsobediminished!
•Thesquadcardrivesinfrontofthegetawaycar,stopsandblocksitswaysothatitmuststop. Note: itispossiblethatthedriverwillgetoutofthecarandcontinuetheirescapeonfoot!

Both policemen have:• Handcuffs(left-clicktoequip,thenright-clickthetargetpersontoarrestthem)
Attention: armedpersonsoraggressorscannotbesimplyarrestedusinghandcuffs(seefurtherdown:pepperspray,truncheon,andhandfirearms)!
• Walkie-talkie(left-clicktoequip,thenleft-clickonacallbuttonforarequiredvehicle)
• Thesquadcarcanbecalledatanytimeandthegamecharacterscanthengetintoitanddrivetotheareaofoperation
All other vehicles can only be called according to context:• Ifavehiclemustbetowedaway,thecallbuttonforthebreakdownvehicle
isactive• Ifanarrestedpersonmustbetakenaway,thecallbuttonforthepolice
transportvehicleisactive• Ifaninjuredpersonmustbetakenaway,thecallbuttonfromtheambulanceis

The policemen also have the following items of equipment:• Pepperspray (left-click to equip, the right-click the target person who will be
temporarily put out of action) Forexample, in order to arrest an unarmed aggressor, it is recommended to use the pepperspray first and thento use the handcuffs to arrest him
•PDA(left-clicktoequip,thenright-clickthetargetpersonorvehicletobechecked).Anumberofincidentsinthegamerequirespersonsandvehiclestobechecked!

In addition to the general items of equipment, the policeman also has the following:
• Truncheon (left-clicktoequip,thenright-clickthetargetperson).Forexample,toarrestanarmedaggressor,itisrecommendedtoinitiallydisarmhimwithalighttruncheonstrike.Itisonlypossibletoarrestdisarmedopponents!
•Firearm(left-clicktoequip,thenright-clickthetarget).Forexample,toeliminateanaggressorarmedwithafirearm,itisrecommendedtoreturnfire.Note:atargetpersonmayneedtobehitmorethanoncebeforetheyarecompletelyputoutofaction!

Theplayerhasthefollowingoptionsinthesquadcar:•Switchflashingbluelighton/off(left-clickonthesymbol).Vehiclesinthe
vicinityofthesquadcarwilldrivetothesideoftheroadwhentheflashingbluelightisswitchedon
•Activateloudspeakers(left-clickonthesymbol).Iftheloudspeakersareactivated,thedriverofthecivilianvehiclelocatedinfrontofthesquadcarwillberequestedtodrivetothesideoftheroadandgetout(whethertheyactuallydothatornot,willdependonthesituation!)
