Point of view. Why are artificial diamonds worth attention? How do we evaluate things and phenomena we happen to use or experience in our life? Usually, we do this from the point of our urgent need, and practical application in our daily life but do not dive into their true nature considering the cause-aftermath aspect in terms of the global aspect. If doing so, we do this not often. That is why it is quite difficult to see the true meaning and progressive potential of the things to which we used to ascribe merely physical value. Yes, we speak about artificial diamonds. We estimate them as accessories and compare them to natural diamonds saying they are not as true as we want. We call you to look broader and make an attempt to look at the lab-grown product as the manifestation of true values bringing us a healthier and prosperous future.

Point of view. Why are artificial diamonds worth attention? How do we evaluate things and phenomena we happen to use or experience in our life? Usually, we do
this from the point of our urgent need, and practical application in our daily life but do not dive into
their true nature considering the cause-aftermath aspect in terms of the global aspect. If doing so, we
do this not often.
That is why it is quite difficult to see the true meaning and progressive potential of the things to which
we used to ascribe merely physical value. Yes, we speak about artificial diamonds. We estimate them as
accessories and compare them to natural diamonds saying they are not as true as we want.
We call you to look broader and make an attempt to look at the lab-grown product as the manifestation
of true values bringing us a healthier and prosperous future.
And here is a few arguments for this kind of thinking. Firstly, it is the environmental effect. Most likely, you know the difference between natural and artificial
diamonds: natural gems are mined, and artificial analogs are grown in the laboratory. It is a broadly
known fact. Yet, do you know that mining produces 4,383 times more waste than laboratory
manufacturing?
A study comparing the environmental effect of these two processes has found that more than 50 % of
the emissions of nitrous oxide is associated with mined diamonds while lab-brown diamonds avoid all
the sulfur oxide. Mining requires around 7 times as much water and consumes 2.14 times the energy
per one carat produced.
Apparently, both processes have weak sides, but mining was not upgraded for centuries and caused
detrimental effects from year to year until the emergence of artificial diamonds.
Here is the second argument – market competition promotes changes.
Indeed, under the conditions of monopoly miners had no reason for considering sustainability even if
they could change something. Artificial diamonds turned shaped the situation extremely fast by moving
the sustainability issue to the first position and making it the point for consideration.
As of today, we can talk not only about the safe laboratory production process but one can hear more
and more discussions about substantial transformation in mining. It is important since we still have
many people who like natural diamonds.
The third argument is in green initiatives.
Except for transformations in the manufacturing process, one can observe how many businesses
reshape their strategies by launching new sustainable initiatives. We can list many ideas related to the
replacement of traditionally-used materials with artificial diamonds, but we would not focus on this. Our
purpose is to emphasize broad context. In this regard, the case of Madestones, an artificial diamond
distributor, a CO2-neutral company, is very representative in terms of lasting effect and the scale of
future changes. The company practices planting trees in the name of its customers to solve the issue of
the greenhouse effect.
What do you think? Are there enough reasons to prefer artificial diamonds?
And here is a few arguments for this kind of thinking.
Here is the second argument – market competition promotes changes.
