2019 GUIDELINES FOR YEAR-END GIVINGGiving is important to you and to our church. Please read the following which is developed from the IRS’ guidelines and the church’s holiday schedule to eliminate any confusion regarding the tax deductibility of your 2019 contributions at year end.

• The church office will only be open until 12 noon on the following days to receive hand delivered contributions: Thursday, December 26 • Friday, December 27 • Monday, December 30 • Tuesday, December 31

• All collections received in the Sunday, December 29 offering, regardless of the dates shown, will be treated as 2019 contributions.

• We have a deposit drop box to the right of the church office door on the second floor of the Education Building. This drop box is marked as “MAIL.” All items deposited in this drop box will be collected before closing the church on Tuesday, December 31 at 12 noon. All contributions collected from this box on Tuesday, December 31 will be considered 2019 contributions. All contributions in this box when the church reopens will be treated as 2020 contributions.

• Online Giving can be used until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31 for 2019 contributions. To give online, go to mvbcnow.org/giving and click “ONLINE GIVING—CLICK HERE TO SIGN IN AND GIVE ON LINE.” Please note, if you are a first time online giver, you must open an account and have an email address registered with the church. The latest date to register an email address and process your request to open a new account is 11 a.m. Thursday, December 26.

• Under the so-called “mailbox exception rule,” checks that are dated, mailed and display a postmark no later than December 31 WILL BE recognized as a 2019 contribution, even if the mail is received by the church after January 1, 2020. Any envelopes postmarked after December 31 must be treated as 2020 contributions regardless of when received.

Should you have questions regarding contribution guidelines, contact Ken Sledd, Director of Finance • 270-6600 x113 • [email protected].

What is an ABF?An Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) provides you with an opportunity to be involved, known & loved within MVBC. ABF classes provide opportunities for Bible study, building relationships, prayer & service. In short, they provide you with the chance to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ. ABFs are groups of about 8-100 members who meet together each Sunday. The size of these groups makes interactive learning very effective and relationships easy to form.
