Tough compeTiTion brings fasT Times for hs Track & field
Friday May 1, the Bloomingdale men’s and women’s track and field teams traveled to Kalamazoo to compete in the JT Long Invita-tional. James Baranoski was the top finisher for the men in both the shot put and discus placing 5th in both events. Brody Whit-cotton, Daniel Newburry, and Andrew Lopez joined James in the shot put placing 21st, 22nd, and 24th. In the discus, James was joined by team-mates Daniel New-burry, Dustin Peterson, and Andrew Lopez with Daniel taking home a PR in the event. Robert Eagle long jumped his way to a PR and 15th place finish. Junior Nick Veldt had an interest-ing night. He began his night with a PR in the 3200m relay, followed that with a spectacular double fall in the 110m high hurdles, and came back from his fall to nab a PR in the
300m hurdles. As Nick was round-ing the first turn in the 300m hurdles, he realized that there was a hurdle missing! Holding to form he jumped an invisible hurdle and was able to finish without fur-ther difficulty! Other run-ners who brought home PRs were: Brian Paquette, Brandon Smith, and Brad Fitzhugh.
Freshman Britney Sny-der had a great night of running bringing home PRs in both the 1600m run and the 800m run. Sprinters Antania Jud-kins and Hannah Harris helped the Lady Cardinals with their great perfor-mance in the 100m dash. Judkins also contributed to the teams efforts by finish-ing 12th in her 200m dash.
Brandy Goodwin threw her way to a PR in the discus. Jasmine Brock fin-ished a strong 12th in the shot put and was followed by Goodwin who placed 14th.
middle school boy’s TrackThe team travelled to Bangor
for its last league meet and won the meet beating both Bangor and Martin. The team performed ex-ceptionally well again ending the season with only one loss. The team ended the week by travelling to Constantine on Friday and going against some very good competi-tion in Constantine, Schoolcraft, Niles Brandywine, White Pigeon, and others. Although the team was competitive we ended up 5th out of the nine teams. The best perfor-mance of the night came from Mi-
chael Ellis finishing first in the 100 meter dash and Hunter Underwood finishing 3rd in the pole vault with a personal best of 8’4”. Hopefully, the SAC meet in Saugatuck will be re-scheduled so the league can see how good of a team we have. Otherwise, we will finish the season at the Ban-gor Relays meet on Thursday. We have a good chance to win an abun-dance of medals at the meet and we could even contend for a trophy. This has been a great year! Everyone has worked hard and had fun win-ning. Thanks! Chelsea Harrison held up her end of the bargain, but Harrison couldn’t pilot the Cardinals past Gobles as they lost 3-2 in seven innings on Monday.
Harrison worked out of eight tough spots for the Cardinals. She pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits. Harrison faced her trickiest spot in the fourth inning.
The top of the third saw the Car-dinals take an early lead, 1-0. Kay-tlen Greene singled to ignite the Bloomingdale Cardinals Varsity’s offense. Marty Harris and Cierra Stone each had singles for the first game.
I am pleased with how the Lady Cardinals continue to improve each game.

Chelsea Harrison did her best to will the Bloomingdale Cardinals Varsity to a win with a two-hit game, but the Bloomingdale Cardi-nals Varsity dropped a 11-0 con-test to Gobles on Monday. Marty Harris, Megan Greene, and Rachel
Douglas each had a single for the game.
Megan Greene ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 11 runs in 5 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out four.
cardinal JV sofTballearn Two wins aT home
On Thursday, April 30, the JV softball earned two wins on their home field against the Saugatuck Indians. The winning pitcher for both games was Cierra Stone with 13 strikeouts. The score for game one was 15-11 and game two’s score was 16-6. Jessica Gonzalez played awesome defense at sec-ond base, stopping and catching everything coming her way. De-
fensively the girls were on their game, only marking four errors for the entire night. Top hitters for the night were: Jenny Boyer with four singles, Cierra Stone with three singles and a triple, Lily Laws with four singles and two doubles, Hannah Felty with four singles, Haley Andre with four singles and a double, and Brittney Boyer with two singles.

My name is Burton and I am a super cool bundle of love! I am about 4 years old and weigh about 65 pounds. I enjoy walks and
playtime in the yard. I have some basic manners and I am totally potty trained and crate trained. I’m actually a fairly mellow guy, I like to follow my people around thehouse, and I enjoy a good nap in the sun.
I am Keira, a beautiful Dilute Calico. I am also beautiful on the inside. I love to purr and be
petted. My foster mom holds me andkisses on me. I just love it!
