• Federal, State, and local highway agency employees and consultants involved in inspecting bridges or in charge of a bridge inspection unitbridge inspection unit

To allow for additional field time, element evaluation, additional class interaction and new lessons, the following prerequisites are required before taking NHI 130055

Instructor led 5 day FHWA NHI Course No 130054 (revised • Instructor led 5-day FHWA-NHI Course No. 130054 (revised and released in Fall 2010)

or

• Web-based 16-hour FHWA-NHI Course No. 130101 (coordinated with 130055 revised course)

Participants of FHWA-NHI-130101 will be required to take and pass the on-line assessment, FHWA-NHI-130101a, upon the completion of the course

Participants may test out of NHI 130054 and NHI 130101 by successfully completing the online assessment (NHI 130101a)

ARS enables participants to provide instant feedback to the instructor and fellow participantsinstructor and fellow participants

• Participants use the remote to select the answer

• Once the answer is selected by the participant, the signal from the remote is sent to a receiver that is plugged into the computer via USB port

• After the participants are done selecting the answers, the instructor closes polling and the answers of the participants appears with the correct answer appearing
