Objectives
• To examine recent evidence on the detec-
tion and treatment of pneumothorax,
hemothorax, delayed hemothorax in the
emergency department.
• To compare the diagnostic modalities
available and evaluate the need to drain a
small, occult, or large pneumothorax or
hemothorax.
