The healers of the Maitreya School of Healing wantto make the knowledge of COLOUR HEALING morewidely available. That is the reason for the creationof this booklet.Being able to do colour healing for oneself andothers is a wonderful skill. It is simple to do and witha little regular practice everybody could do it andbenefit.The aim of colour healing is to restore or maintainperfect health, well being and harmony.

The examples used for the flowers are by no meansextensive. There are naturally many more, all overthe world. The Californian Poppy with its brightyellow is very similar to the English Buttercup. Onceone is aware of colours as a healing tool one noticesthem everywhere.

HOW IS COLOUR HEALING DONE?

ONE NEEDS:

INTENTION

Simply tell yourself that you will devote the next period oftime to colour healing. Take as long or as little time asyou can and want.

KNOWLEDGE

Get to know the colours. The colours used for colourhealing are freely available in the nature around you.Take a walk in a park, botanical gardens, open fields,woodlands, marshland, the desert, mountains, the beach,wherever! At some point in this walk, stop, stand still andmentally select a plant or flower. Observe it closely in itsnatural habitat, trying to identify the hue, saturation andlightness of its colour.

Now close your eyes and try to reproduce that colour inyour mind's eye. Try to recreate the colour as intenselyand as accurately as possible. After a few moments,open your eyes and 'check' this inner colour against theactual outer colour. Are they a close match? If not, don'tworry simply try again. If they do match, continue yourwalk until you find another plant/flower that attracts yourattention. Repeat this exercise as often as you can. Don'tforget to breath deeply and evenly.

PRACTICE

Practice makes perfect. The more often you can manageto do the above exercise, the more skilful you willbecome.

When you have learnt to remember the colour of yourchoice try to send it – project it – into certain parts of yourbody.

How? You can imagine the colour/energy leaving yourhands and flowing from your fingertips, or you could sendit from your third eye, the space between your eyebrows,or from your Heart Chakra. Or you could find your owntechnique. You could also send it to somebody else. Thisactivity is called: ABSENT HEALING.

DEVELOPING INTUITION

When you become more skilful in doing colour healing foryourself and/or others you will develop intuition.This is a feeling, an inner voice, which guides you towardthe most appropriate colour and where to send it.

PRACTICE FORGIVENESS TOWARD YOURSELF AND

OTHERS

AND LAUGH AT LEAST ONCE A DAY ...

Colour is a form of energy.

Different colours vibrate at different levels and all ofcreation is in constant movement, constant vibration.Our bodies appear so solid however, when closelyobserved through a magnifying glass we learn that ouratoms move about all the time.When colour is applied we can influence the movementof these atoms, make them faster, or slower.

APPLICATIONWhere strength is needed, could be any of theorgans, often applied to the Heart Chakra when thereare serious challenges, life threatening disharmonies.Applied to the head for calming thoughts andInsomnia.

WHERE TO FIND ITThe sunlight colours are found in many varieties ofdaffodils, buttercups, gorse, sunflowers…..

QUALITIESLike that of sunlight, it promotes vitality, gives life,promotes growth, joy, stimulation, release, creativity.

APPLICATIONTo the Brow and Crown Chakras.When applied to the spleen it invigorates and workslike a tonic.

There are many other healing colours but for the sake ofsimplicity we will only focus on the ones most frequently

used.

WHERE TO FIND ITIt is a fresh, new, yellowy kind of green found inSpring. We can see it in new grass, unfurling beechleaves, in all sun drenched spring foliage…..

QUALITIESCleansing, clearing, detoxifying, purification, renewaland balancing. Green gives stability, endurance andpeace.

APPLICATIONIt is one of the most widely used colours. It can beapplied everywhere. Being the general colour ofnature, green provides nourishment, cools the bloodand animates the nerves. Green used on the BrowChakra clears catarrh. Used on the filtering organs(liver, pancreas, gall bladder, kidneys, intestines) itclears and cleanses. Applied to the Throat Chakra itaids communication, clears the whole body andcleans the blood.

WHERE TO FIND ITBluebells can be found in many woods andgrasslands in the UK during the spring time, othersimilar colours are in pansies, hyacinths,delphiniums, cornflowers…..

QUALITIESHealing, mending, restoring, relaxing, calming.

APPLICATIONExcellent energy to apply to broken bones, tissues,pain, sores, ulcers. It is often applied to the SolarPlexus Chakra to keep one's balance and to keepgrounded.

QUALITIESWarmth, acceptance, compassion, sympathy,unconditional love.

APPLICATIONIt is often applied to the Heart Chakra. You can alsosurround yourself with it like wearing a warm,protective cloak. It is very beneficial to send thisenergy to others, to our planet, to the whole universe.
