Project Management Learning – What is required?

Up to 90% of project management

learning and development activities in

the majority of organizations are

through traditional classroom and

computer based modes that –

1. Are Theoretical & One-way

2. Fail to recognize the experiential

and unique nature of IT projects

3. Fail to bridge the gap between

learning and its application

The challenge is to make Project management learning an Engaging

Experience that is Fun, Practical, and focussed on „Application‟.

Evidence – Experiential learning in Project Management

Business is „Doing‟ - so is Project Management. And the best way to

accelerate understanding of Project Management is to experience and „do‟ it.

Traditional learning, which

tends to encompass only

the top 2 elements of

the has long term retention

rates of just 5-10%.

Experiential learning

effectively encapsulates all

areas of the pyramid –

which is why the retention

rates are so high at 80-90%.
