Jim, 65, returns for his 10th season overseeing all on-field
operations for
uniformed staff in minor league operations. He replaced Tom
Foley, who was named the Rays major league third base coach in
November 2001. Before joining the Rays, he served the To-ronto Blue
Jays as field coordinator in 2001 and as director of minor league
development from 1998–2000. He also held the field coordinator
position with the Cincinnati Reds from 1984-90. Hoff managed in the
Reds organization for 11 seasons. The Tampa resident is a 1963
graduate of University of Detroit High School. He graduat-ed from
Xavier University in 1967 and attended the University of Notre Dame
Law School.
Bill, 57, returns for his sec-ond season as minor league field
coordinator after previ-
ously serving as a professional scout in 2008-09 and Joe
Maddon’s major league bench coach in 2006-07. Prior to his stint as
bench coach, his first 30 years of baseball were spent at the minor
league level, including 19 as a manager. He is Durham’s all-time
leader with 613 victories as manager, and led the Bulls to
International League championships in 2002 and 2003 – two of five
league titles on his resume (also Florida State League in 1997 and
Texas League in 1990 and 1991). On June 19, 1996, he managed the
GCL Rays in the first-ever minor league game in Rays history.
Drafted by the Chicago Cubs out of Eckerd College in 1976, he
caught and played first base in the Cubs system from 1976-79. He
and his wife, Patricia, have a daughter, Kelly, and a son, William,
who pitched for three years (2004-06) in the Rays system.

Dick, 67, returns for his 11th year with the Rays, fifth as the
organization’s pitching
coordinator. He previously served as pitching coach at Hudson
Valley (2001, 2004-06) and the Rays Double-A affiliate (2002-04).
Dick spent nine seasons in the majors as the pitch-ing coach for
Baltimore (1992-94) and Texas (1995-2000). He began his coaching
career as Baltimore’s roving pitching instructor in 1988. “Boz”
pitched 11 seasons in the majors for the Washington Senators
(1966-71), Texas (1972-
73), Cleveland (1973-75) and Oakland (1975-76). He led the
American League with a 2.19 ERA in 1969 and hurled a no-hitter for
Cleveland on July 19, 1974 against Oakland. Bosman is the Senators’
all-time leader with 49 wins and start-ed their final game at RFK
Stadium on Sep 30, 1971. He also started the first game in Rangers
history on April 15, 1972 vs. California. Dick and his wife,
Pamela, have four daughters: Michelle, Nadine, Elizabeth and
Amanda, and reside in Tarpon Springs, Fla.

a coach or coor-dinator. He joined the Rays on January 1, 2001.

DEWEY ROBINSONPITCHING COORDINATOR
Dewey, 55, returns for his second year with the Rays after 13
seasons with the
Houston Astros organization. Before joining the Rays, he spent
two years (2008-09) as the Astros major league pitching coach.
Robin-son previously served as Houston’s director of pitching
development and worked as a profes-sional and amateur scout,
including the evalua-
tion of draft-eligible pitchers. He joined the As-tros after
spending 10 seasons in the Chicago White Sox system, where he
served two years (1993-94) as the White Sox bullpen coach and
worked as the minor league pitching coordina-tor. The former
right-handed pitcher made 30 career relief appearances for the
White Sox over parts of three seasons (1979-81). Dewey and his
wife, Cindy, have two sons, Brett and Greg.
TENuRE: This is his 21st season in professional baseball, 19th
as a coach, man-ager or coordinator. He joined the Rays on May 1,
1996.
STEVE LIVESEYHITTING COORDINATOR
Steve, 42, returns for his sixth season as the minor league
hitting coordinator
and his 16th season in the Rays system. He was named the 2007
Rays Player Development Man of the Year. Steve is the only person
to have coached or managed in the Rays organization continuously
since the inaugural 1996 season. He made his managerial debut with
Class-A Charleston (S.C.) in 2004 and led the RiverDogs to their
first playoff appearance since 1988. A 35th-round draft pick of the
Yankees in 1991, he played two years before beginning his
coaching
career with the GCL Yankees, where he spent two years. Steve is
the son of former Rays Spe-cial Assistant Bill Livesey. He earned
his bach-elor’s degree from Davidson College in North Carolina.

Matt, 37, starts his second season as hitting coordi-nator after
four seasons of
managing, including two with Class-A affiliates Bowling Green
(2009) and Columbus (2008). He spent 2006-07 as the skipper for
Short-A Hudson Valley. Matt began his coaching career midway
through 2004 with the Renegades and returned to the post in 2005.
An eighth-round pick by the Rays in the 1996 June Draft, he be-came
the first Rays minor league player to join the organization’s
coaching staff as the catch-ing instructor in 2003. Matt played
seven minor league seasons, batting .286 with 202 RBI in 415 games.
He became the first Rays player
to hit for the cycle on July 6, 1997 with Class-A Charleston.
Quatraro graduated from Old Do-minion University with a history
degree and was named the 1996 ODU Male Athlete of the Year and Male
Scholar Athlete of the Year. He and his wife, Christine, live in
Albany, N.Y.
TENuRE: Begins his 16th season in professional baseball, ninth
in a coaching capacity. He joined the Rays on June 22, 2004.

SKEETER BARNESOuTFIELD & BASERuNNING COORDINATOR
William Henry “Skeeter” Barnes, 54, returns for his ninth season
in the Rays
organization and his fifth at this position. He coached the Rays
Double-A affiliate in 2003-04 and Class-A Southwest Michigan in
2005, and managed Southwest Michigan in 2006. Skee-ter served as
the hitting coach for Triple-A In-dianapolis (Brewers) in 2001-02.
His coaching career began in the Detroit Tigers organization,
making stops at Triple-A Toledo (1995-96, 1999) and Class-A West
Michigan (1997-98) before managing Class-A Lakeland in 2000.
Originally drafted by the Reds in 1978, he played 17 years
in professional baseball. He started at every position except
pitcher and catcher during a nine-year major league career that
spanned four organizations: Cincinnati (1983-84, 1989), Montreal
(1985), St. Louis (1987) and Detroit (1991-94). Skeeter and his
wife, Karen, reside in Indianapolis and have a daughter,
Christy.

JAMIE NELSONCATCHING COORDINATOR
Jamie, 51, begins his 12th season in the Rays orga-nization and
his fourth as
catching coordinator. He spent the previous five seasons
managing Rookie-level Princeton and stands as the P-Rays all-time
leader in manage-rial wins with 141. He also coached at Princeton
in 2000 and at Class-A Charleston in 2001-02. Jamie managed in the
independent leagues from 1994-98. He appeared in 40 games in the
majors with the Seattle Mariners in 1983 and played 12 years in the
minors with seven organizations: the Mets (1978-80), Mariners
(1981-83), Brewers (1984-85), Royals (1987),
Yankees (1988), Angels (1989) and Twins (1990). Jamie hosted a
sports talk show in Mobile, Ala., in 1994-95 and co-hosted another
in Tri-City, Wash., in 1997-98. He and his wife, Lee Ann, live in
Springdale, Ark.

WINtER DEVELOPMENt PROGRAM
The Rays held the organization’s second annual Winter
Devel-opment Program for selected minor league players, Monday,
January 10 through Thursday, January 13 at Tropicana Field.
Twenty-five players attended and they participated in workouts each
day, received media training, visited MacDill Air Force Base and
the Pinellas Park Boys and Girls Club and attended sessions with
major league staff.

Trung enters his sixth sea-son as the Rays minor league strength
and con-ditioning coordinator. T.C. previously worked in the
Chicago White Sox organization for 11 seasons.
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Registered (CSCS *R) and member of the National Strength and
Conditioning As-sociation. Trung and his wife, Helene, reside in
Bradenton, Fla., with their two sons, Ethan (2) and Eli (1).
Tim begins his 16th year with the Tampa Bay orga-nization, ninth
as minor league equipment man-ager. He oversees the Char-
lotte Sports Park complex year-round, main-tains the clubhouse
for minor league spring training, assists during major league
spring training and orders all equipment for the Rays
minor league affiliates. He previously served as the assistant
minor league equipment manager from 2000-03 and as a batboy from
1996-99, when he worked the organization’s first-ever game. Tim
began his career as a batboy for the St. Petersburg Cardinals
(1993-96). The North-east High School graduate resides in North
Port, Fla., with his wife, Brooke, their son, Jayce (2), newborn
daughter Shae and two dogs.

Lee moves into a new role as minor league medical coordinator
after spend-ing the previous two sea-sons as the athletic
trainer
with Double-A Montgomery. Prior to joining the Rays, spent three
years in the Rangers or-ganization as the athletic trainer for
Triple-A Oklahoma (2006-08). He previously served as the athletic
trainer for Wilmington (Red Sox), Portland (Red Sox) and Kinston
(Indians) for one
year each. He began his career as an athletic trainer in the
Montreal Expos organization from 1991-95. He worked in the Arizona
Fall League for the Peoria Saguaros in 2004 and 2010. He is
certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ As-sociation and an
associate member of the Pro-fessional Baseball Athletic Trainers’
Society. A graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery, Lee resides
in Montgomery with his wife, Heath-er, and two sons, Caleb (11) and
Clay (8).
Joel enters his eighth sea-son with the Rays and his third in
his current role. He spent the previous four years as a trainer at
various
Rays affiliates: Montgomery in 2008, Class-A Vero Beach in 2007
and Short-A Hudson Valley in 2005-06. In 2003, Joel interned with
the Rays
in minor league spring training and with the Tampa Yankees
during the season. He gradu-ated from the University of South
Florida in 2003 with a degree in athletic training and worked with
the football, basketball, baseball and men’s soccer teams. Joel and
his wife, Sara, reside in Sarasota, Fla., with their daughter, Emma
Jean.

2010 SEASON REVIEWAfter establishing a new Triple-A record with
88 wins, the Bulls reached their second straight Gover-nor’s Cup
Finals where they fell in four games to the Columbus Clippers
(Indians). Durham also claimed many of the league’s top honors,
including Player of the Year (Dan Johnson), Pitcher of the Year
(Jer-emy Hellickson) and Manager of the Year (Charlie Montoyo).
Charlie, 46, begins his fifth season as Durham’s manager and his
15th in
the Rays organization…has led Durham to the International League
finals in each of his four years as manager…led the Bulls to the
Inter-national League championship series for the second straight
season after winning the 2009 Triple-A championship…in 2009, was
named the Baseball America Minor League Manager of the Year and
received the Mike Coolbaugh Award, which is presented to “an
individual who has shown an outstanding baseball work ethic,

2010 SEASON REVIEWMontgomery finished third in its division this
season but the Biscuits won their most games since 2007 when they
went 81-59. The club’s rotation was anchored by lefty Alex Torres,
who led the Southern league with 150 strikeouts—three shy of Andy
Sonnanstine’s Biscuits record (153 in 2006). Torres fin-ished with
11 wins in 27 starts and was a member of the World Team in the XM

Montgomery…the former outfielder played his final stint in the
majors with the Rays in 2000, receiving a Sep-tember call-up after
posting a career year for Triple-A Durham, hitting 29 homers,
leading the International League in RBI (104) and runs (100) and
earning All-Star honors…batted .341 in 12 games during his Rays
call-up with 4 homers and 13 RBI…was selected by the Cubs in
the
fifth round of the 1991 June Draft and played professionally for
16 seasons with the Cubs, Reds, Mariners, Rays, Braves,
Diamondbacks and Mets organizations as well as the Chunichi Dragons
of the Japanese Central League, the Mexican League and independent
Atlantic City…hit 269 home runs over his minor league

to Tampa (Yankees) in the Florida State League champion-ship
series. Their 80 wins were an FSL-high as they grabbed their second
South Division title. Lefthand-er Matt Moore led all of the minor
leagues with 208 strikeouts as Stone Crabs pitching set a new
league record with 1,189 total strikeouts, breaking the previous
record of 1,132 set by Tampa in 2001.
Jim, 58, begins his third season as manager at Charlotte in his
fifth year
with the Rays…led the Stone Crabs to the Florida State League
finals in each of the club’s first two seasons…named by Baseball

MINOR LEAGUE OPERATIONS GULF COAST LEAGUE RAYS
Dan, 32, returns to the GCL Rays staff this season…returned to
the Rays or-
ganization in 2009 with Princeton to begin his coaching career
after taking a year away from baseball…in 2007 wrapped up an
eight-year playing career with the Rays and Nationals sys-tems…the
former infielder spent the first five years of his career with the
Rays after signing as a non-drafted free agent in June 2000…was
selected by the Nationals from the Rays in the minor league Rule 5
Draft in 2004…reached as high as Triple-A New Orleans in 2005 and
2006
and played his final season in 2007…played for Princeton in his
first year, 2000, earning Ap-palachian League midseason All-Star
honors and leading the circuit with 48 runs scored…had his best
season in 2005, split between Double-A Harrisburg and New Orleans,
as he hit a combined .324 with 14 homers and 30 doubles in 384
at-bats…attended the Univer-sity of Alabama-Birmingham…he and his
wife, Krista, make their home in Birmingham and are parents of two
young daughters: McNally (6) and Fallon (3).
TENuRE: This is his 11th season in professional baseball, third
as a coach. He joined the Rays organization on November 1,
2008.

DAN DeMENT
Hector, 65, is in his second season on the GCL Rays staff after
moving from
Class-A Bowling Green…begins his seventh year with the Rays
organization…coached for Rookie-level Princeton in 2008 after
coaching with Double-A Montgomery in 2007 and for the second part
of 2005, after Mako Oliveras left the club to manage Puebla of the
Mexican League…served in the same capacity in 2006 for Short-A
Hudson Valley…spent the first 24 years of his coaching career with
the Blue Jays, serving as a coach, manager or instructor from
1979–2002…was a member of the major league coaching staff for the
AL East Champion Blue Jays club in 1991, his only stint in the bigs
as a coach…coached at Class-A Hagerstown (Gi-
ants) in 2004…the former infielder was drafted by the Giants in
1962 and played nine seasons in the majors with the Astros
(1968-70, 1973), Cubs (1971), Expos (1972), Padres (1975-76) and
Blue Jays (1977)…in December 1976 he was one of three players
traded from San Diego to Cleveland in exchange for current Rays
first base coach George Hendrick…the Mexico na-tive makes his home
in Dunedin, Fla.
TENuRE: Begins his 43rd year in professional baseball, 33rd as a
coach or man-ager, including nine seasons as a player.

Chris moves to the GCL Rays after spending the previous two
seasons as Charlotte’s trainer…begins his 16th season with the
Rays organization and 19th year in professional baseball…named
the Florida State League Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2010…spent
the 2006-08 seasons as the Rays assistant ath-
letic training coordinator…in 2004 he was se-lected as the
California League Trainer of the Year while at Class-A
Bakersfield…his resume as a trainer also includes stops at
Southwest Michigan, Hudson Valley, Princeton and Butte. Chris
received his sports medicine training at the University of
Washington…he has sung the National Anthem at both spring training
and regular season Rays games the past six years.

2010 SEASONThe DSL Rays finished with their best record in four
seasons as a Rays affiliate at 42-30. It was also the team’s first
winning season as they finished in second place, 1 game back of the
DSL Mets for the Boca Chica North division title.
Julio, 39, will serve as man-ager of the DSL Rays for the third
straight year…2009
was the first managing job of his career…served as the infield
coach for the DSL Rays in 2007-08…former second baseman played six
years in the Mets organization (1993-98)…signed on July 12, 1992 by
Mets scout Eddy Toledo, cur-rently the Rays director of Dominican
Repub-lic operations…played 1993-94 for the DSL Mets…was named a
South Atlantic League All-Star in 1995 for Capital City…set a St.
Lucie
record with 16 sacrifice bunts in 1997…the San Pedro de Macoris,
D.R., native attended Jose Joaquin Perez High School…he and his
wife, Yesenia Castro, have three daughters: Samasly, Yuliana and
Asly.
Arturo, 57, returns for his second season with the Rays as the
DSL Rays field
coordinator…was the hitting coach for the As-tros Dominican
academy from 2005-08…man-aged the GCL Expos in 2004 in his only
mana-gerial experience…previously spent time in the Yankees, Expos
and Marlins organizations as a director, manager and scout for the
Dominican academies…played 10 season in the Cincin-nati Reds
organization, including parts of the 1978 and ’79 seasons in the
majors…played
in 939 games and hit 101 home runs in his 10-year minor league
career…spent the next seven seasons playing in the Mexican League
before joining the GCL Yankees in 1987 as a coach…he and his wife,
Maritza, have three grown children: Cesar, Jason and Anna.
TENuRE: Begins his fifth year as a coach with the Rays. He
joined the Rays on October 4, 2006.

Gonzalez, 30, joins the DSL Rays after serving as the pitching
coach for the DSL Red Sox for the past six seasons…pitched in the
Red Sox
farm system from 2000-02, advancing to Short-A Lowell in 2002…in
three seasons, posted a 2-1 record with a 3.44 ERA in 19 games.
TENuRE: Enters his 10th year of professional baseball, seventh
as a coach. He joined the Rays orga-nization on January 14,
2010.

Elvin, 31, enters his fifth year as a coach with the DSL
Rays…played in the Seattle
Mariners organization from 1998-99…resides in San Pedro de
Macoris, D.R., with his two chil-dren, Junnerbys and Derek.
Roberto, 26, begins his third season coaching for the DSL
Rays…was a pitcher in the Rays system
from 2004-08…did not pitch in 2007 due to in-jury and was
released during spring training in
2008…originally signed with the Rays in Janu-ary 2004…spent one
season at Rookie-level Princeton and the following two years at
Short-A Hudson Valley…appeared in 36 games and fanned 62 in 54
innings over three seasons.
Rafael, 36, will serve as the DSL Rays hitting coach for the
first time after spend-ing the last two seasons
as the outfield instructor…played professional baseball in the
New York Mets system from 1992-96…played one season in the
indepen-
dent Texas League before spending the 1998 season with the Rays
organization in Class-A Charleston and Class-A St.
Petersburg…fin-ished his playing career in 2000 with Waterbury of
the independent Northern League…married to Cheila Reinoso and has
three children: Am-bar (12), Elvira (8) and Rachel (1).
TENuRE: Begins his fifth year as a coach with the Rays. He
joined the Rays in October 2006.

coach in 2005…former left-handed pitcher was signed in 2001 by
then-Astros scout An-dres Reiner, now the Rays special assistant to
baseball operations…pitched four years in the Astros system and
played five years in the parallel league – one with Magallanes and
three with Caracas…he and his wife, Crisbel, have one daughter,
Nicole.

Gustavo, 25, will serve as the hitting coach and catching
instructor for the VSL Rays…served as the
catching instructor for the Tiburones BBC in the Venezuelan
Winter League this past winter, his first coaching
experience…played four years,
mainly as a catcher, in the Cincinnati Reds orga-nization at the
VSL level from 2004-07…played on the 2007 team that had split
affiliation with the Rays and Reds…hit .321 in 2007, good for 7th
in the VSL…resides in Maracay, Venezuela, with his wife, Yrny
Guilarta.
Pablo, 32, will be the head trainer for the VSL Rays for the
third season…spent 2008 as the head athletic
trainer for the Rays summer and winter league teams…joined the
Rays in November 2007 as the trainer and strength coach after
spending the 2006-07 seasons with the White Sox orga-
nization…spent one year in Houston’s organi-zation in 2005 as an
assistant trainer and then worked in the Venezuelan Winter League
with Magallanes…received his undergraduate de-gree in physical
therapy from Arturo Michelena University…lives with his wife,
Veronica Ben-como, in Valencia, Venezuela.
