LINDA JOOSTE [email protected] It’s all about Jesus: not just a hippy- looking peasant with a beard from two thousand years ago, but God himself who has always existed and will rule the universe forever. The astounding news is that you can know him personally, forever, and that knowing him will make sense of your life and give you joy like no other god, person, thing or experience can. How you respond to Jesus is the most important decision you will ever make in your life. He’s worth exploring. Platt runs an informal course on Monday nights called Christianity Explored: a relaxed place to find out more about God, faith, Jesus, the Bible and more. You won’t be asked to pray, sing or read aloud, and you can ask any questions you like. Or, if you prefer, you can just come along and listen. It’s all about Jesus: not just a hippy-looking peasant with a beard from two thousand years ago, but God himself who has always existed and will rule the universe forever.

THE GREAT ESCAPE

Friday 30th January – Sunday 1st February 2009

Coming on THE GREAT ESCAPE is great for getting to know other students at Platt better, and getting to

know God better. Last year 70 people came to THE GREAT ESCAPE, don’t miss out this year – look out for the booking form later in term and book by 22 January.

Now you know a bit about us, we’d love to get to know you. Please fill this bit in, then pop it into one of the boxes at church, give it to one of the student team or send it to the address at the bottom. We won’t spam you with stuff you don’t want but we will keep your details on our database to email you each term about what’s on at Platt for students.

This leaflet aims to introduce you to what’s on at Platt for students. If you’re

new, get stuck in: stick around for lunch or coffee after the services on Sunday, get to know people

and introduce yourself to one of the student team.

Welcome!

SBS (Student Bible Study) is the main thing we do for students. It’s the best way to belong, get to know people, and get into the Bible. We encourage you to make it a top priority.

We get together every Thursday at 7 for cake and chat, listen to a short talk, and then study the BIble and pray together in people’s homes. Groups are mostly led by non-students who have been around a bit longer. This term we’ll be looking at the life and teachings of Jesus, from Matthew’s Gospel.
