Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities ThreatsNational and International Recognition
Declining economy--PPFA laid off 30 workers recently due to the economy
Continue to provide services for underserved populations, those without insurance
Donors— The Picower Foundation, who gave $484,000 to Planned Parenthood in 2006 closed down because it’s assets were managed by Bernie Madof
Legislative awareness, advocacy, and success. Success in Planned Parenthood v. Gonzales
Public image—many individuals are unaware of any of PPFAs activities other than birth control or abortion. This image makes PPFA extremely polarizing and controversial
Partnerships with other organizations
Shareholders of donors petitioning or creating a resolution for cessation of support. Funding sources; easily pressured, need many donors.
Creative new solutions for poor economy
Abortion activists have taken extreme measures, including boycotts, lobbying, and acts of violence to cease PPFAs activities.
