PITT STATE BASICSAcademicsPSU is a fully-accredited state

university with more than 150

academic programs– many

considered some of the best of their

kind in the U.S. With a student-to-

faculty ratio of 19:1 and average

undergraduate class size of around

20, you won’t get lost in the

crowd. Top-notch faculty combine

personal attention with the latest

in classroom technology to give

you the best academic experience

possible and the campuswide wireless network means

you can study at the library, in your

room or on your laptop outside on

the Oval! Learning doesn’t take place

just in the classroom. Each year,

more than 100 students study

abroad and about 1,300 students

complete internships and field

experiences in their area of study.

The result is that within six months

of graduation, 93% of graduates

are either working or continuing their

education.

By the NumbersWhen you choose Pittsburg State University,

you’re not just choosing the only university

in the U.S. with a Gorilla as a mascot, you

are also choosing a family with a rich history

and strong academics– a place you can call

“home.”

Financial AidPSU’s Office of Financial Aid is always ready to help students and

families access the many options to help pay for college. In fact,

more than 80% of students receive some type of financial aid,

which includes scholarships, grants, loans or work study. Last year,

for example, the university awarded more than $3 million

in financial aid and more than 700 students had on-campus jobs.

These are some of the reasons that PSU continues to be one of

the most affordable university’s in the region.

Campus LifePSU’s 63,000 alumni

will tell you that your

campus years will be some

of the most memorable

of your life. As one of

about 7,400 students

from 31 states and 42

countries, you will be part

of a diverse, vibrant Gorilla

family that includes more

than 400 international

students and more than 1,000 minority students. When you’re not studying, you’ll have

lots of choices. Those include: More than 150 clubs and organizations; 10 varsity sports;

more than 30 intramural programs; 9 national fraternities and sororities; and hundreds of

concerts, lectures, comedy routines, art shows, movies and other events– almost all free!

Gibson Dining HallOffering a wide variety of culinary options, Gibson Hall is definitely NOT your traditional cafeteria. Served in a sit-down atmosphere, every meal includes beverages and desserts. “Ma Gibs,” as our students call the dining hall, provides late night dining options as well. You’ll find yourself wanting to go back for more…and you can with our “all-you-care-to-eat” format.

University ClubLocated in the lower level of the Overman Student Center, the University Club is the place to be for students looking for a place to relax and unwind. Several food and beverage options are available in PSU’s own Cyber-café, so you can have a pick-me-up while surfing the web.

Gorilla CrossingLocated in the Overman Student Center, the Gorilla Crossing is the perfect place to “grab a quick bite” or join friends for a meal. Our “food court” design allows you to choose between a variety of restaurants so you’re certain to find the right one to fit your taste and budget.

Axe GrindLocated in the Axe Library, the Axe Grind serves assorted beverages and snacks, providing students an opportunity to take a break while studying.

KTC Café Just because you have class in the Kansas Technology Center doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a delicious meal. The KTC Café offers hot meals, sandwiches, snacks and beverages with lounge style seating, big screen televisions and a fantastic staff.
