and information.
Problems I will face with The Northen Echo being secondary
audience and the solutions..
Audience..
Women age
between 16-20
Socioeconomic status
ABC1
Disposable income
This chart shows the turning wheel that will make my magazine so successful.
Women 16-20, group ABC1 = Disposable income.
I have a reasonably young target audience therefor I had to
produce stories that were fresh but helpful to a audience that are
entering adult hood.
Fashion
Sleep
Fitness
Beauty
These will be my DPS’s that will feature in my magazine. They all deal with my target audience
separately focusing on subjects they may be worried about or may benefit them.
All 4 DPS please the women audience and are the main 4
problem categories women face. “ “6

I asked my audience to fill in a simple questionnaire to get the best possible results. Many of the questions were to do with context and layout, but these
questions helped my decide which style of magazine to produce..
Genre Re-search..
9
Doing some genre research helped me avoid typical
‘women's lifestyle’ stories for example
celeb gossip.
Popular articles are gone! This magazine will
show a new twist. Fresh colours and
language
Influences: other magazines have taught me right
from wrong. Don’t want to be
the same! I life difference!
Reason: It’s the genre I know most about myself and
the genre I find most interesting.
Typical layout – Woman on right hand text on life
hand.
Girly color's, pinks reds.
Pink has connotations of fun and flirty.
Red has connotations of confidence and sexiness.
From top, title, kicker and 3 columns of text. Typical of a Women's lifestyle DPS.
These few features are already typically conventional of a women's lifestyle magazine, but my magazine aims to avoid these features we see over and over
again!
In order to get the best possible research conducted, I analysed other magazines to
see where there going wrong!
