CRITICAL CARE PULMONOLOGIST
Vishal Sawhney, M.D., M.H.P is Board Certified Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. He is Affiliated with University Hospital- Portage Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center. Dr. Sawhney received the 2018 Patient’s Choice Award from Vitals.com. The Patient’s Choice Award is a recognition that reflects the difference a physician has made in the lives of his/her patients. The honor is bestowed to physicians who have received near perfect scores, as voted by patients.
RESPIRATORY THERAPY
We have partnered with Respiratory Care Partners (RCP) to have respiratory therapist available to our patients as needed, 24/7. With the assistance of RCP, we coordinate optimal weaning guidelines and plans that are tailored to each individual patient. Whether our patients require minimal or intense weaning from oxygen devices, we can handle their needs and have exceptional results.
NURSING CARE
Our nurses at The Pinnacle undergo regular training, in-servicing and evaluation for our pulmonary patients; including, HighFlow Oxygen Devices, BiPAP, CPAP, concentrators, tracheostomy care, early signs and symptoms awareness, maintaining and monitoring for stable oxygen saturation and more. This allows our nurses to maintain the best competencies to care for complex patients.
DISCHARGE TO HOME
Our Dedicated Team strives to make your discharge to home as easy as possible. Respiratory Therapy and Nursing will partner to provide education and in-servicing to our patients and their families. We also provide educational printed handouts to take home. Our Social Work department will coordinate and set up any home care needs and durable medical equipment prior to discharge.
