HARVEST MONITORS NEEDED

If you are interested in being a Monitor for this year’s harvest, you must provide your name to Taylor Ozawanimke, Employment Officer at 613-625-2800 and inform her that it is for the;

“Harvest Monitoring Positions”

Monitors will be posted in various locations entering Algonquin Park to collect information on

persons entering and leaving the park. (Information is only for safety reasons and collecting information on the harvest.)

The Monitor will prepare and provide reports to the Harvest Department as requested. Monitors must have access to a dependable vehicle, a valid driver’s licences and car insurance. Rate of pay will be $15.00 per hour plus a gas allowance to travel to their post.

Summary

The Post-Secondary Student Counsellor is responsible for the development, administration and implementation of a Post-Secondary School Counselling program for student members of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation. The Post-Secondary School Counsellor will provide career counselling, guidance in program choices, support throughout the academic years in the areas of: learning concerns, obstacles impacting the opportunity of success, navigating the school systems and processes, residency housing and financial management.

Basic Requirements

Successful completion of a Post-Secondary Program in a counselling field OR a Secondary School Diploma with a minimum of three years’ experience in a counselling field.

Experience working in a post-secondary environment, with students and a varied clientele and with the public;

Experience preparing and administering budgets;

Post-secondary institutions’ programs and services

Labour market and current employment trends

Complete the Native Counselling Training Program within a prescribed period of three years

It has been a great pleasure to work as the Community

Health Nurse here at Pikwakanagan First Nation as part of

the Health Services team. I have valued your trust and

friendships over the past seven months and hope that our

paths will cross again in the future.

If your children require immunizations, Well Baby Checks,

food vouchers, or a Baby Box, please stop by the Family

Health Team and ask for Tracy, she will be covering for the

time between when I leave for mat leave and when Brittany

Martin returns from hers (November 2018). Please note an

appointment will need to be booked for immunizations.
