IQ and Intelligence
Pigs are very intelligent animals. They can be
trained to do simple tasks and tricks. They are
one of the top four smartest animals in the
world.
1
Humans and Pigs
People are very mean to pigs. They race them
and more.
2
In China they kill pigs for festivals. In other
places they permenitly tatoo pigs.
3
Communication
Pigs make grunting
sounds to
communicate.
It may not sound
sophisticated, but
it is.
4
Heroic Actions: Once there was a pig named
Bacon. He saved a boy from drowning. A pig
named Priscilla did too.
5
Family: Pigs develop close relationships with
their mates and members of their tribe. They
like to cuddle with each other when they sleep.
6
Pigs can come in many sizes. After a baby piglet is born, it eats
enough to double it's weight in one week. Pigs roll in mud
because they don't have sweat glands so they use the mud to
cool them off. Pigs can have up to 12 piglets per litter.
7
In nature, pigs live in social groups. Pigs who know each
other engage in certain behaviors, much like humans
shake hands or hug. A pig may greet a friend by making
nose-to-nose contact or by grooming the other.
8
When people say the expression, "When pigs
fly, " they are serious. They mean that it is not
very likely to happen. Or is it...?
