2 ND EUROPEAN BODYBUILDING AND PHYSIQUE SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIPS – CITY OF BUDAORS, HUNGARY The Hungary Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation successfully hosted the 2 nd WBPF European Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships and Congress in the City of Budaors, Hungary from June 10 – 13, 2011. This competition was held under the supervision of the European Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (EBPF) headed by Axel Baur, President of the European continent. WBPF Hungary is in the good hands of Ildiko Buranits, EBPF Secretary-General and Peter Sebestyen, President WBPF Hungary and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the championships. This is the first time in the history of bodybuilding, that such a high level event were organized in the beautiful city of Budaors. The Bodybuilding competition for pre-judging and finals were held at the Varosi Usoda es Sportcsamok. It is a nice sporting complex with all amenities provided for all sports. Over 100 athletes from 14 countries (AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, BULGARIA, CZECH REPUBLIC, GERMANY, HUNGARY, ITALY, MALTA, NETHERLANDS, POLAND, ROMANIA, SERBIA, SLOVAKIA AND UKRAINE) participated in the 2nd WBPF European Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships. Among the guest of honour were WBPF Secretary General Datuk Paul Chua of Singapore and WBPF Assistant Secretary-General Christina Y. Kam of Hong Kong China. The contests were of very high level and the team championships awards were snatched by: Hungary (1st place), Ukraine (2nd place) and Netherlands (3rd place). The Best Posing award was won by Shahin Irani from Belgium and the Most Muscular bodybuilder was Bela Kokeny from Hungary. The overall champion in the Men's Bodybuilding was won by Bela Kokeny of Hungary and he won it hands down amongst the other top competitors. WBPF Vice-President for Europe and President of the EBPF Axel Bauer quoted that the 2nd WBPF European Championships was a phenomenal success not only for WBPF Hungary but for the entire Europe.

He further stated that: “power couple" Peter and Ildiko have left no stone unturned to make this event a great success. Ildiko's and Peter's hospitality and organizing capacities are unrivalled in Europe and will be the benchmark for further development. WBPF Secretary-General Paul Chua announced that Hungary will soon be the hub of Bodybuilding and Physique Sports. They have capable people of high calibre and with a dynamic team of officials. A self-organising group led by Ildiko and Peter, a great combination of power of both sexes. The inclusion of Bodybuilding and Physique Sports in the SporsFest was indeed a brilliant idea. Kudos to WBPF Hungary. WBPF Secretary-General Paul Chua and WBPF Vice-President for Europe Axel Bauer presented the highest award of the WBPF Gold Medal to Ildiko and Peter for their dedication and commitment to Bodybuilding and Physique Sports. After the closing ceremony of the competition, WBPF Hungary hosted a Dinner Party for all officials and athletes at the Varosi Usoda es Sportcsamok venue for over 250 people and it was an atmosphere of family gathering where everyone mingled freely and enjoyed their dinner. In conjunction with the SportsFest there were several other sports and fitness activities included in the program for the spectators to enjoy and have fun in many of the games. The European Bodybuilding and Physique Sports championships were the premier event. The 2012 WBPF 3rd European Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship was accorded to Malta.
