Pop-Up BookStudents will create a pop-up book that discusses

each element of one of the standards we’ve covered first semester.

Include the following information on each page of the pop-up book.

· The book should include 5 pages. (20 pts. Each)

· An illustration or picture to go with the element· An explanation of the element and what it

means.

How to Create a Pop-Up Book

• Step1: Fold a piece of paper in half• Step 2: Cut two slits for each pop-up you want

to appear on that page• Step 3: Open the paper and push the cuts on

the inside.• Step 4: Then refold the paper to compress

the cut to fold in the opposite direction.• Step 5: Open the paper and you may glue

Words To KnowCreate an book of illustrations for one of the

standards that we have covered this semester. The book should include the following:

• A cover with a title and the standard• 10 illustrations of key terms included in the

standard. ( 10 pts. each)• The illustrations must be in labeled and

colored. They can be hand drawn or printed from the computer.

• Design a power point presentation that reviews one of the three standards covered this semester.

• The power point must cover each of the elements covered by that standard.

• Your power point presentation must also include the following:– At least 10 slides ( 8 pts. each)– Related Illustrations/ animations ( 20 pts.)– It must be saved on a flashdrive.

poster board. (10pts. for construction) You may choose your own element, but be sure

Atom Model• Construct a three dimensional model of the

atom using a styrofoam ball as the nucleus with the appropriate number of small objects (pompoms, for example) attached to it to represent protons and neutrons. The electrons are attached to the rings in the configuration matching the electron arrangement of the atom.

• Grading:– Accuracy (75 pts.)– Creativity (25 pts.)

Christmas Ornament• Create a holiday decoration. Use

materials you find in your home to create a decoration that exhibits at least one of the properties of light.

• You will have to describe the properties of light that your decoration exhibits.
