• They are multicellular ,aquatic organism.

• Presence of canal system.

• ostia – spongocoel – osculam.

• The body wall contain spicules.

• Reproduction – Both asexual and sexual method.

• Example : sponges.

All animals are marine except Hydra.

The body is radially symmetrical.

The body wall contain two layers – Ectoderm and Endoderm.Inbetween ectoderm and endoderm , there is a mesoglea.

Diploblastic animals.

.Many coelenterate exhibit polymorphism. Example : obelia colony

Presence of Nematocyst – Cells of defence – tentacle – When triggered ,poison is penetrated in to the prey.

Reproduce both asexually and sexually method..
