Phyllosilicate- bearing outcrop within the Eberswalde Crater landing ellipse Latitude/longitude: -23.824 North, 326.675 East Rationale: This brecciated, ridge-forming outcrop is the location of the strongest phyllosilicate signatures yet observed within the proposed MSL landing ellipse. Morphology and Mineralogy: The brecciated, ridge-forming deposit contains light-toned veins and forms a sharp SW-NE trending cliff face. CRISM spectra over this outcrop are consistent with Fe-rich phyllosilicate minerals and an unidentified phyllosilicate phase mixed with pyroxene (Milliken, 4 th MSL Workshop Presentation, 2010).
