WHAT IS PHP.INI ?

it is a configuration file that is used to customize behaviour of PHP at runtime.

WHAT IS A CONFIGUARION FILE?

configuration files, or config files configurethe initial settings forsome computer programs. They are used for user applications,server processes and operating system settings.

• lines beginning with semicolons are ignored.• Keys are case sensitive, values are not.• Booleans can be represented by..• basic settings are language options, resource limit data handling, file uploads, etc..

SOME IMPORTANT SETTINGS IN PHP.INI

display_errors=off/on

determines whether errors should be printed to the screen as part of the

output 

session.gc_maxlifetime = time_In_sec

This setting is how long a session is valid on your

system.  The default length of

time is 24 minutes.

short_open_tag = 0 <? ?> If you ever have the

need to embed PHP in XML, you may run into this.

upload_max_filesize = 10M

The file size allowed to be uploaded.

max_file_uploads = integerThe maximum number of files allowed to be uploaded

simultaneously.

max_execution_time= integer This sets the

maximum time in seconds a script is allowed to run.

default time is 30secMemory_limit = 128M

This sets the maximum amount of memory in bytes that a script is allowed to allocate.

disable_functions = [function1,function2...]

This directive allows you to disable certainfunctions .

disable_classes = [class1,class2...]

This directive allows you to disable certain

classes. 

upload_tmp_dir = [DIR]

Temporary directory for HTTP uploaded files (will use

system default if not specified).

allow_url_fopen =on/off

This option enables the URL-aware fopen wrappers that enable

accessing URL object like files.Description:If allow_url_fopen =off File_get_content(url) will not work!!

mysql.default_host = hostname

mysql.default_user = username

mysql.default_password = password
