“Getting ready to teach” using Photovoice within a collaborative action research project What is ’Photovoice’? The project used ‘Photovoice’, a methodological tool seldom applied in the initial teacher education context to empower participants to voice and critically reflect by thinking deeply about their context, difficulties and emotions faced, using images to foster critical consciousness and identities, and co-construct possibilities for change (McIntyre, Youens, and Stevenson, 2019).
