Parktone Community Group A big hello to all, the children had a wonderful day for Book Week dressing up as their favourite characters, and the PCG are happy to announce that we were able make a wonderful profit of just over $260 from the book stall and the afternoon tea. Great job everyone and thank you to all the children and parents who donated the wonderful books, and the food for the afternoon tea. We hope that all the dad’s out there had a fantastic Father’s Day. The children were all able to purchase some wonderful goodies from the Father’s Day stall that was held on the 29
th August. Thank you to the parents that helped with the
organising, wrapping, setting up and selling. The stall made over $900, what a sensational effort. You may be aware that the PCG sent out an expression of interest notice, thank you to the wonderful parents that have handed these back. If you are interested in joining the team, please feel free to pop into one of our meetings. The meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm in the staffroom. DON’T FORGET: DATES TO REMEMEBER:
Trivia Night (23rd November) - Circle it in your
diary. This is the PCG’s major fundraiser and social
event for the year. Heaps of fun, more details to
follow.
If you would like to be part of the Parktone Community Group [PCG] and are not sure what it involves, or if you could help, please feel free to call me on 0423 095 677 (Peta). Regards from the PCG team.
Proactive Parktone Parents
We are interested to see how Parktone students use the 7 Habits and the Leader In Me outside of school. On a regular basis students display their growing understanding of the habits in school. We would like to hear about how our students are using their knowledge in everyday life. We are asking for positive examples of the leadership initiative and its impact on your child’s life. Please email your child’s classroom teacher (or write the example in your child’s diary) anytime you notice your child using the habits. Our aim is to collect and display these positive stories to share with the children and our community. Thank you for your assistance,
Charlene Macklin and Emily Commins.
KNITTERS still NEEDED
for
YARN BOMBING The Art room is desperately looking for any parents/grandparents/friends who would be interested in knitting 160 cm X 20cm lengths of wool for an upcoming yarn bombing project for art. Wool can be provided by the school or if you have any unwanted wool at home this would also be greatly appreciated. A box outside the art room will be left for potential knitters to grab a ball of wool. Lisa Poulter Visual Arts Teacher
