AlhambraWelcome to Lion Country! Alhambra is a College-going HigH SCHool . Alhambra offers 72 Honors and Advanced Placement classes and college credit (dual enrollment) courses. Being a part of the MediCal Magnet means a chance to prepare to become an athletic
trainer or therapist as well as take courses for other medical professions while in high school. Special business
programs help prepare students for jobs in Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Accounting or Computer
Applications.
Our counseling department provides ECAP (Education and Career Academic Planning) for every student, and
through free ACT exams, students can track their College readineSS. Our students are better prepared
each year - seniors earned over $2 million in scholarships in 2013. Alhambra is actively pursuing pathways
for our students to earn college credit while in high school. These pathways include the ACE Program, and
dual enrollment classes/concurrent courses with Maricopa Community Colleges and Grand Canyon University.
Alhambra also participates in PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports). Students acquire skills to

60 Advanced Placement and Honors sections in all academic and elective classes. Students also have the
opportunity to be dual enrolled with Phoenix College earning college credit alongside their high school credit.
Our seniors consistently receive scholarships totaling over $2 million annually. Our outstanding faculty includes
five National Board Certified teachers among our staff.Maryvale is known for having an OuTSTAndinG PERfORMinG ARTS program which includes
Touring Guitar Ensemble, Choir, Jazz Choir, Marching and Concert Honors Band, Jazz Band, Honors Orchestra,
Piano, Dance and Drama courses and our new Mariachi class. The Panther Marching Band and the dance
program have received state honors. The Touring Guitar Ensemble has performed for audiences

an academically-oriented course of study for students to choose from, including regular education courses

South MountainSouth Mountain High School is the first and oldest high school in the South Mountain community, turning 60 years old in 2014, and educating students since 1954.
