Architecture with purpose. The new fitness club created rentable space and captured a dramatic skyline view. Located within the Rodin Place retail development, the Philadelphia Sports Club project involved redevelopment of back- of-house gross leasing area into valuable storefront retail. Previously considered un-rentable, the space was studied by BKP who found a creative and economical way to repurpose it. By designing a new bridge/walkway on the side of the building and a lobby that intersects the first floor slab with both stairs and a wheelchair lift, BKP provided circulation over an existing parking garage with strict clearances. Expansive windows provide gym users with panoramic views of the Philadelphia skyline. The tenant space was developed by Valhal Corporation.
