REST IN PEACE DON PRATTApril 7, 2020
We mourn the loss of Don Pratt – Board member, builder and, most importantly friend.
Don joined the Home Builders Association in 1989 and went on to become one of its most active and influential members joining the Board of Directors in 1994. He remained on the Board until his death, holding the position of President three times. He was an anchor of the Parade of Homes™, entering a home every year, and insisting that only HBA member suppliers and subcontractors be allowed to work on his home.
Every request made to Don of time, talent or materials for a worthy cause was met with a resounding yes. As with the many other organizations Don supported, his focus was always on leveraging his position to help others. He frequently suggested service projects and requests for donations to the HBA’s Community Service Committee, which he Chaired for several years, and often ended up personally directing the projects he brought forth. Don was a generous steward of the students in the Tri-Tech Skills Center Construction Program, doing his best to ensure these kids had all the tools and supplies they needed to become successful members of the building community.
Don’s passing leaves a gaping hole in both the community and our organization. The HBA and the Tri-Cities are better because of him. Our condolences go out to Don’s family. For online condolences and to sign the online guest book, visit Hillcrestfunerals.com
