1. Background

7. Application procedure and fee details:
7.1. A candidate shall apply for only two subjects in Master programs. Separate fee is
to be remitted for each subject. Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. can
apply for only one subject.
7.2. All applicants should fill in the applications by ONLINE ONLY
(admissionsatpgschool.tnau.ac.in) till 12.00 midnight on or before 31.12.2020 for
Masters and Ph.D. programs.
i. Total amount to be paid by online in the admission portal for submitting the
application is Rs. 1600/- (Rs. 1550/- for SC/ST) per subject. Application
processing charge is Rs. 1500/- per subject and application fee is Rs. 100/-
(Rs. 50/- for SC/ST).
ii. Scanned copies of Tamil Nadu Community certificate issued by the
Revenue authorities as per G.O.(Ms).No.85 BC, MB & MW Department,
Dated 29.7.2008, G.O.(Ms).No.96 BC, MB & MW Department (BCC), dated
08.09.2008, G.O.(Ms).No.97 BC, MB & MW Department (BCC), Dated

iii. SC/ST candidates from other states should also upload scanned copy of the
community certificate issued by competent authority. BCM / SCA Students of
Tamil Nadu should upload the scanned copy of the community certificate.
iv. The candidates seeking admission against differently abled set apart for Hearing
impaired /Orthopedically Differently Abled / Visually Impaired should produce
the recent certificate from the Medical Board of the District concerned
certifying the nature and extent of disability in percentage. Certificates obtained
from an individual Doctor will not be considered and such applications will
be summarily rejected. Further, a separate TNAU Medical Team will examine
the candidates with reference to their certificates and his/her suitability for
admission to TNAU (Refer: Appendix–I)
v. A scanned copy of provisional / degree certificate showing the Class or OGPA
obtained in the qualifying degree.
vi. Scanned copies of mark list / transcript card showing details of courses
undergone and marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
vii. While submitting the applications by online, if required scanned
copies(documents) are not uploaded, then the application will be summarily
rejected without any intimation.
7.3. All enquiries regarding admission process should be made only through e-mail at
8.1. Entrance examination will be conducted by ONLINE Mode. It is the responsibility of
the candidate to prepare themselves for appearing through online mode. Since,
sufficient time is provided from the date of this notification, candidates should
ensure that they use internet connection with good signal. Candidates have to login
in on the specified date and time for the entrance exam on their own expenses.
Request for change in the date/time will not be entertained.
8.2. The exact date and time of entrance exam will be published in the University
website and intimated to the candidate through email.
8.3. Entrance test with multiple choice questions from the respective subjects.
Candidates applied for two subjects should appear in the examination for both the
subjects continuously.
Eligible candidates will write the entrance test for 100 marks in three compartments
Compartment 1 General Agriculture For 15 marks
Compartment 2 Aptitude For 10 marks
Compartment 3 Specific subject For 75 marks
8.4. General Instructions for Entrance Test are as follows
1. The entrance test will be conducted with remote video proctoring. Any Candidates indulging in any mode of malpractices will be expelled.
2. The decision of the university to expel a candidate from the online exam cannot be challenged.
3. If impersonation in the Entrance Test is detected at any point of time, the candidature will be cancelled and appropriate legal action will be taken.
8.5. All the original certificates for which scanned copies have been uploaded
while filling online application should be submitted during admission
without fail. Candidates who fail to upload certificates will not be allowed to
appear in the entrance test and the application will be rejected.
8.6. Candidates should upload Provisional Certificate or Degree certificate before
appearing for the M.Sc./M.Tech./Ph.D. entrance examination or at least the
completion of viva-voce certificate for applying to Ph.D. programme from the Dean
SPGS for TNAU students and for other state students Head of the Institution
(Registrar/Controller of Examinations/Deans of the university) without which they
will not be permitted to appear in the examination.
8.7. Allotment of students to the constituent colleges (for course and thesis work) of
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will be first based on the merit besides
students’ preference. The decision of the University will be final in this regard. Any
recommendations shall be viewed seriously.
8.8. Reservations
