PETROLEUM SYSTEMByFAUZIAH NURAINIOutlinewhat the petroleum system?what are the components of the petroleum system? What the petroleum system??Petroleum system is a unified concept that includes all elements and processes of petroleum geology. In the application used for exploration, resource evaluation, and research. In terms says:Petroleum is a mixture of compounds consisting of a high concentration of a substance due to thermal and biological hydrocarbons as gas hydrates, tight reservoir, fracture shale, and coal, condensate, crude oil and natural bitumen in the reservoir are generally silica clastic and carbonate rocks .The Components of Petroleum System

SOURCE ROCKSource rock is where the beginning of the oil and natural gas are formed. Source rocks are sediments containing organic materials are abundant so as to produce oil and gas. The sediment buried thousands of feet below the surface and forming the heat that makes the mature petroleum.

RESERVOIRThis component contains rocks that are capable of storing and capable of flowing hydrocarbons. Where the rock must have porosity and hydrocarbon storage permibilitas as good as where the flow of hydrocarbons.

MIGRATIONMigration is the process of transportation of oil and gas from the source rock to the reservoir. The migration process begins with the migration of primary (primary migration), the transport from the source rock to the reservoir directly. Then followed by secondary migration (secondary migration), migration in the reservoir rock itself (from reservoir to reservoir section in the shallow section).

TRAPTrap is an area or field where oil or gas is accumulated and concentrated on a trip or migration. A type of trap should also impermeable, it aims to be an effective trap for the presence of hydrocarbons was sendiri.Jebakan structure must exist prior to hydrocarbon generation process stops.

SEALSeal is a rock that has a small porosity and permeability. This rock has a role as an insulator that is not permeable like claystone / mudstone, anhydrite and salt.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION
