Data Alignment between EAD & CACD

• Airspace Data Repository project - ADR

• More than 10,000 records examined• Data alignment completed on AD & Points and on going for Routes

and AS• Missing data in EAD & CACD identified• We know where the inconsistencies are; to bring the publication and

operational processes closer• Some 10 Data Harmonization Objectives proposed/approved via

EUROCONTROL Stakeholder Working Groups (e.g. publication of intermediate Flight levels)

Findings during ADR Project

• Missing data in EAD• Sector data;• 1995 sectors of CACD compared with EAD• 1388 not found in EAD/SDO (70%)

• Data Harmonisation and Inconsistencies• Required for Points, Routes and AS• Upper and lower limits of routes are left for interpretation

• Crossborder information• discrepancies and confusion is caused when neighboring countries are not

coordinating• FIR boundary changes, Gap’s and/or overlaps• Boundary points, route changes involving boundary points

ADR Lessons Learned

• Integration between the AIS Publication and the ATM Flight Operations processes is a key enabler

• EAD Data Completeness and SDO Migration of all EAD Data Providers is a prerequisite

• Non AIP/ATM Data Provision requires similar process as in EAD• (e.g. operational sectors, runway configurations..) beyond Annex 15

• Data Harmonization & Consistency • More players making use of the static data as basis for their operations emphasize further the

need for consistent data

• We have gained experience to shape the future, where AIM data directly serves the ATM Operations
